It is an exceptional showcase.

The first mayor of the city says that Cartagena is "the tourist capital of the Region of Murcia."

Ana Belén Castejón wanted to remember that the centers and museums of Cartagena Puerto de Culturas have managed to attract a total of 57,370 people from different areas of the Autonomous Community so far in 2019. This represents an increase of six percent compared to 2018 , which translates into about 24,000 more people, as explained by the mayor of Cartagena.

The second deputy mayor of the city and Councilor for Tourism, Commerce, Health and Consumer Affairs, Manuel Padín, says that “gastronomy in our municipality is one more color of the rainbow of our tourism potential, because we cannot understand tourism without hospitality and the professionals who are dedicated to it â€.

Padín has also thanked HOSTECAR for his "great involvement with this project" and "the enormous effort he has dedicated to making everything go perfectly."

The mayor of Tourism, Commerce, Health and Consumer Affairs also wanted to highlight the details of the position that Cartagena will present to those attending the Region of Gastronomic Region fair.

There will be a viewpoint to the Port of Cartagena on one side, while on the other, you can see the Roman Theater in the city.

Meanwhile, the director of the Region of Murcia Gastronomic fair, Sergio Gallego, has announced that during this event, chefs such as Pedro Subijana or the Torres brothers will pass, as well as a representation of restaurants such as Mugaritz or Martín Berasategui.

Gallego says that in this edition, the fair wants to give another approach to the culinary universe.

“What we have done this year is to bet on one of the most important parts of gastronomy, which is the room.

We have been saying for many years that the sector needs not only to look at the kitchen, which is essential, but we must also look at what is happening outside. â€

Sergio Gallego says that the Region of Murcia Gastronomic will be the first national congress that will bet on the hall.

The Cartagena stand will have the presence of La Cangreja, Los Habaneros, Sacromonte, Café Lab, Bodega Viña La Cerca, Frigoríficos Morales and the School of Hospitality and Tourism.
