The municipal services, attentive to the yellow warning of rain that is activated this morning (21/10/2019)

The municipal services of the City of Cartagena are attentive to the evolution of the yellow notice issued by the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) that provides rainfall for Tuesday, October 22, which could reach 60 liters per square meter in the accumulated of 12 hours and 20 liters, in one hour.

Specifically, the warning will be activated this morning at 0 am and will remain until 2 pm on Tuesday.

The mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, will monitor the evolution of forecasts and rainfall in case the corresponding operation of municipal services is activated.

For the moment, with a view to the arrival of this new cold drop, which is expected to be of a lower intensity than that experienced on September 13, the Municipal Infrastructure services have carried out this weekend cleaning tasks the boulevards in their urban stretches that usually present problems, while the concessionaire of the sewerage network, Hidrogea, has reviewed pocetas, scuppers and water pumping systems;

and the road cleaning, Lhicarsa, the removal of leaves from the streets to prevent the clogging of sinks.

Local Police, Fire and Civil Protection personnel are also located and attentive to what the next hours might hold.

From the City Council, the usual advice is repeated again, especially regarding not trying to cross floodwaters or flooded areas either on foot or aboard a vehicle, in the face of being dragged.

Neither camp nor remain in flood areas.

Also to avoid flooding in homes, it is advisable to check downspouts and keep the sinks clear of leaves.
