The Commission of General and Institutional Affairs, of the European Union and of the Human Rights of the Assembly has unanimously approved an initiative of the Popular Parliamentary Group in which the Government of Spain is requested to set up a commercial register in Cartagena
Joaquín Segado, promoter of the motion, stressed that "the need for a Mercantile Registry in Cartagena is more than justified, not only because of the volume of business and the very important and outstanding weight of the business sector in the city", but also because " it is a historical claim of the civil society of Cartagena and, more specifically, of different groups and associations, such as COEC, AJAC or Chamber of Commerce. "
"Cartagena and its region have an incessant business and industrial activity, with more than 15,000 commercial companies and large projects that boost the economy in the area," said the spokesman for the PP in the Assembly, "such as the Port of Cartagena, Logistics Activities Area of the Camachos, or the closest elaboration of the General Plan of Cartagena ".
Mowing has also pointed out that "the tourism sector, one of the engines of the economy of Cartagena, will also have significant support with the transfer of the Ministry of Tourism to the city, which will lead to the emergence of new tourism and business projects and more activities mercantile. "
The "popular" spokesman has stressed that "a commercial register in Cartagena would save displacements, facilitate negotiations and reduce bureaucratic procedures," since "having to move to the city of Murcia is a considerable damage for entrepreneurs and citizens of Cartagena and region, and a burden on business operations. "
"A commercial register is perfectly possible in Cartagena," said Joaquín Segado, since "the provincial capital is not a 'sine qua non' requirement, since the regulations allow their existence in cities such as Mahón, Arrecife, Santa Cruz de La Palma or San Sebastián de La Gomera ".
