Initially approved the Action Plan against noise in the urban agglomeration of Cartagena that will be submitted to public information (04/10/2019)

The Local Government Board, meeting this morning, under the presidency of the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, has initially approved the Action Plan to combat noise from the urban agglomeration of Cartagena (2019-2023), which will be submitted to information public in the next few days.

The aforementioned action plan is based on the strategic noise map prepared by the City Council and which reflects the impact that the various infrastructures, such as roads, ports, railways or airports, have on the acoustic levels that the inhabitants of the city support. city.

According to this map, the main source of noise comes from road traffic, mainly on large avenues.

For this, the Action Plan proposes a series of measures such as the elaboration of a noise ordinance that contemplates the characteristics that urban roads must have to be less noisy and a mobility plan that promotes the reduction of road traffic, through the use of alternative transports.

Likewise, concrete measures are proposed such as the installation of acoustic screens on Avenida de Víctor Beltrí to reduce the levels supported by the students of IES Los Molinos.

DONATION OF A FUNERARY URN

The Government Board has also accepted the donation by an individual of an Iberian funeral urn, for display at the Enrique Escudero de Castro Municipal Archaeological Museum.

It is a ceramic vessel about 55 centimeters high, dating from the fourth century BC and that will soon be visited in the municipal museum of Ramón y Cajal Street.

COMMUNICATION SCHOLARSHIPS

Finally, among other matters, the Government Board has approved the call and bases of three scholarships for graduates or graduates in communication, in order to complete their training participating in the activities of the Communication Cabinet of the City of Cartagena.

The scholarships will have a duration of one year, between January 1 and December 31, 2020, and will be provided with an aid of 1,100 gross euros per month.

The bases and the call to participate in the selection process will be published in the next ones on the bulletin board and in the public employment section of the municipal website.
