Improves water quality in Los Nietos, Estrella de Mar and Los Urrutias, although they remain closed preventively due to the presence of trawls (04/10/2019)

The bath on three beaches on the west bank of the Mar Menor remains inadvisable, despite the good microbiotic quality of its waters, given the possible presence in the bottom of trawls caused by the recent episode of torrential rains, which could cause injuries or injuries

The Firefighting, Rescue and Civil Protection Service of the Department of Citizen Security of the City of Cartagena has reported that the beaches where the bathroom is not recommended are Los Nietos (right and left), Estrella de Mar and Los Urrutias , since in them, the risk of the appearance of elements that may be dangerous for bathers has not disappeared.

Last weekend, following the recommendations of the General Directorate of Health of the Autonomous Community, the beaches of Los Nietos and Mar de Cristal were closed to the bathroom, coinciding with a slight rise in bacterial presence on the level considered “excellent”.

The follow-up analyzes have allowed us to verify the positive evolution of the water quality levels in all the beaches of the municipality.

Meanwhile, operators of the City Council of Cartagena and the Autonomous Community continue to work on the removal of elements from trawls in all coastal bathing areas.
