Soloist Nury Guarnaschelli with the Cartagena Symphony Orchestra in the first concert of her new cycle (04/10/2019)

The Cartagena Symphony Orchestra opens its new cycle of concerts this season at the El Batel Auditorium and Congress Hall along with the horn soloist Nury Guarnaschelli on October 26, being the first of the seven concerts the orchestra will offer to throughout this season

The Councilor for Culture, Carlos Piñana, presented this Friday, October 4, at the City Hall the details of this first concert of the cycle with the conductor of the orchestra, Leonardo Martínez, and his manager, Manuel Rives, who They have proposed as an objective with this new project to improve the musical offer in Cartagena and reach a wider audience of all ages.

Under the direction of Leonardo, the orchestra will open the concert on the 26th with 'Music for the Royal Fireworks', composed by Hendel for events held in the UK historically, to which the soloist Nury Guarnaschelli will join with her' Concert for Trompa y Orquesta Nº4 'by Mozart, to finish with' Pulcinella Suite 'by Stravinsky, also with scenographic surprises.

Since the beginning of the school year, the orchestra has been working to start this new project with a total of seven concerts that will take place until next summer, five of them in the Auditorium and Congress Hall El Batel with the collaboration of the Department of Culture, as is the first that opens the cycle.

These concerts intend to give continuity to their work since its inception in 2003, increasing the number of concerts they offer in the city and raising their musical quality with other great artists.

The orchestra has 15 years of experience, being an "emblem of culture in Cartagena," said the councilor during the presentation, and has "great projection not only nationally, but internationally", as it has served as Quarry of young musicians who are working throughout the country and in Europe.

On the occasion of this initiative, the orchestra has a new logo created by the Cartagena designer Ángel Ronda and will soon also release a new website.

Tickets for this first concert of the cycle can be purchased at the El Batel box office at a price of 10 euros for general admission, with 25% for the unemployed, and 6 euros for students.
