Tribute to those affected by DANA in the proclamation of Carthaginians and Romans (19/09/2019)

The official kick-off to the celebrations of Carthaginians and Romans will be celebrated, as is tradition, with the reading of the proclamation, which this year will be dedicated to neighboring municipalities such as Los Alcázares and the Cartagene deputation most affected by the passage of the 'Gota Cold 'last weekend.

This was confirmed by the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, this Thursday, September 19, at the traditional breakfast with the media held in El Corte Inglés, together with the president of the Federation of Troops and Legions of Carthaginians and Romans, José Antonio Meca , the councilor of Festejos, Juan Pedro Torralba, and area delegate, María Casajús.

The director of El Corte Inglés de Cartagena, Alfredo Carvajal, also attended the presentation of the official soundtrack that will feature the celebrations this year by the Cartagena musician, Fran Soto, also present this appearance, who has composed an EP with six songs that can be heard in official events.

It will be after the route 'Iter Ignis' with the traditional lighting of the Sacred Fire, which this year presents the novelty of the route of the flame for 30 kilometers, thus igniting in Cabo de Palos until reaching Cartagena, when the petebero next to his entourage arrive to the Town Hall Square.

There, the actor Nacho Guerreros, known for his role in the television series 'La que se avecina', will be in charge of pronouncing the proclamation at 9:00 p.m., giving official start to the celebrations, together with the march towards the Camp and its opening after 23 hours.

The event will be broadcast live through the City Council's YouTube channel and regional television.

During the event a video of the mayor of Los Alcazares will be screened as a thank you for the invitation to be the first municipality where the Sacred Fire was going to be lit on the route 'Iter Ignis' in the first instance, an act canceled after the consequences in this temporary fort zone.

In this tribute to those affected by the dana, special mention will also be made to the Eagle Patrol of the General Air Academy, on the occasion of the two recent accidents on our coast, which resulted in the death of two pilots and a student of The academy.

The City Hall will also host in this act the delivery of the distinction to the Honoris Causa Festero, which this year falls to Amstel, its territorial director, as reported by the president of the Federation, who recalled that the acts will follow the same order of every year, although this will present news that will be revealed in the acts themselves.

He has also informed that there are still places available for the last act that closes at the festivities, the Roman Circus at 6pm on the last Saturday, September 29, which will be installed on the esplanade in front of the Eroski car park, despite the forecast of brief showers.

For its part, the mayor wanted to remember in her intervention the security of the Camp, where they have made a subsequent visit to verify their accessibility to all audiences, as well as the existence of the Violet Point, which this year has its own space next to the state security posts, as well as to thank all the components of the Federation of Carthaginians and Romans for their work throughout the year and not only on the days of the celebrations.

Last year, there were around 600,000 people who visited both the Feast Camp and the events held, a figure that is expected to be exceeded each year.
