Forty young people receive the title of Masonry and Gardening after conditioning the park of the Explorers (18/09/2019)

The Park of the Explorers, located in the Polygon of Santa Ana, has received on the morning of September 18 the delivery of diplomas of the Mixed Program of Employment and Youth Guarantee Training "Park of the Explorers".

The president of the ADLE, Irene Ruiz, who has attended the closing of the course, explained that "one of the priorities of the Agency for Local Development and Employment is to combat youth unemployment, facilitating and promoting the employment of young people in the labor market. "

The ADLE is one of the first entities to join the 2013-2016 Youth Entrepreneurship and Employment Strategy of the Government of Spain in 2013.

In addition, Cartagena through the Agency for Local Development and Employment was chosen by the European Union one of the 16 European cities in the "establishment of a Youth Guarantee network" 2013-2015, a pilot and pioneer strategy in this area, making it a reference in the matter in the Autonomous Community.

To this end, the ADLE has launched the Mixed Employment and Training Program for Youth Guarantee “Parque de los Exploradores”, a project aimed at 40 young people under 30 years of age enrolled in the National Youth Guarantee System.

It began on December 19, 2018 and has lasted for nine months, during which according to Irene Ruiz, "the students have received a training in the classroom the first three months, and were subsequently hired under the contract modality for the training for the remaining 6 months. "

Students have had two training specialties constituting a Certificate of professionalism level 1:

Auxiliary Operations of Rigid Finishes and Urbanization (commonly called Masonry and Painting) with 20 students

Auxiliary Gardening, Nursery and Garden Center Operations with 20 students

The theoretical training has been given at the Occupational Training Center of the ADLE in Canteras while work practices and effective work have been carried out in this Park of the Explorers located in the Polygon of Santa Ana de Cartagena.

Sergio Pedreo, one of the students, has explained that "lawn and Mediterranean plants" have been placed in the park, but above all he is left with "this experience" as it will help him find a future job.

Another student, Lorena Abenza, said that she was in "unemployment" when she started the course and hopes to find work thanks to the degree in the area of gardening.

The technical team has been formed by four people: two trainers, an administrative assistant and a coordinator, who have been responsible for bringing this job learning and project execution to fruition.

This PMEF has had for its execution a budget of 360,419 euros co-financed by the Regional Employment and Training Service (SEF), European Social Funds (ESF) and ADLE.

Pedro Luis Ros, secretary of the Conservation Entity of the Polygon of Santa Ana, has indicated that thanks to this course "the Park of the Explorers has been conditioned, an area of difficult access that can be visited by all the neighbors".

These Mixed Employment and Training Programs are included in the measures to support job creation for the unemployed, framed in the Youth Employment Operational Program, whose purpose is to offer young people enrolled in the National Youth Guarantee System a training appropriate to its profile, in line with the needs of the market, with the aim of improving their professional skills and competencies to achieve the sustainable integration of young people in the labor market.
