The first hours of the alert for rainfall in Cartagena leave without special incidents (12/09/2019)

The first hours of the red alert for cold drop in the municipality of Cartagena have passed without special incidents.

The most significant rainfall recorded by the network of municipal rainforests of the Hidrogea concessionaire has been measured in El Algar, with 18 liters per square meter and in Saint Lucia, with 17.

According to the Local Police, last night the area of Isla Bella in Los Urrutias and the La Mina road in El Albujón had to be cut off to traffic due to water accumulation.

Both are already open to traffic from early this morning.

Also last night the Local Police agents evicted several motorhomes that were parked at the mouth of the Rambla in La Azohía.

The main incidence on public roads has not been caused by the rains, but by a break in a drinking water pipeline of the Mancomunidad de Canales del Taibilla, which has caused the cut of traffic at the intersection of Jorge Juan and Ramón streets and Cajal, next to the English Court and in which it is already working for its repair.

On the part of Firefighters, no special incidents have been recorded.

The most prominent: the fall of a tree by the wind yesterday morning on the road to Los García, in El Albujón, and two fires due to the undue burning of bushes in Atamaría and cables on a facade on the path of San Felix , which were quickly resolved.

From the City Council it is remembered that the red alert is maintained and it is advised to avoid unnecessary displacements by car and if there is no other remedy, do so, with the utmost caution, avoiding flood areas.

The red notice of the AEMET for storms and rains of up to 70 liters per square meter in one hour and 200 in 12, remains until six in the morning of Friday, when an orange will be activated until 12 noon.

Educational and childhood centers, libraries, sports facilities, cultural centers, street markets and popular festivals are closed or suspended in the municipality of Cartagena.
