The Carthaginians and Romans will once again affect traffic in the Historic District and near the camp (11/09/2019)

The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, has dictated the traditional side of the Fiestas de Carthagineses y Romanos, which establishes a series of measures that will affect the traffic flow and the parking of vehicles in the area of ​​the Festero Camp, as well as in the streets of the city through which parades run and various events are held.

Therefore, in general, the circulation and parking of vehicles within the Camp will be prohibited from September 20 to 29, as in the adjacent esplanade, where during those days parking will be allowed until 4.30 pm, except from Saturday 21, Sunday 22, Friday 27, Saturday 28 and Sunday 29, whose parking ban will be extended at 24 hours.

With the exception of those vehicles authorized by the Department of Public Safety and Public Road, vehicles with people with reduced mobility and emergency vehicles, which may park exclusively in the authorized and signposted places and autotaxis at the provisional stop located next to the Cartagonova Stadium.

PARKING LOTS

With the objective that both participants and visitors can park, parking lots will be enabled in the old festive camp, with its back to the current one, in the Eroski Shopping Center and in the underground public car parks of the Alameda de San Antón and Plaza de España.

Also, from 4:00 p.m. on the 20th to 7:00 a.m. on September 30, traffic will be cut off at Avenida Del Cantón.

On the other hand, during the festivities, the passage of the parades partying and in general, parking and circulation of vehicles on the pedestrian axis from the Plaza de Héroes de Cavite to Calle del Carmen, as well as in other areas and streets will be prohibited in which festive acts take place.

On Friday 27 and Saturday 28, from 2:00 p.m. parking of vehicles will be prohibited in the so-called Gates of Madrid (west zone), Plaza de España (west zone), Alameda de San Antón (west zone), Soldado street Rosique and Puente del Cartagonova towards Camp Festero.

The circulation in these streets will be cut off by the Local Police at the passage of the festive parades.

On Friday 20th, the circulation and parking ban is extended to the streets Honda, Blue Balconies, Ascent to the Windlass, Fields, Air, and Canyon, to the passage of the festive parade.

On Monday 23 and Thursday 26, parking and circulation are prohibited in the Port area, Paseo Alfonso XII and Plaza de Héroes de Cavite, starting at 8:45 p.m. for the celebration of the festive events.

On Tuesday 24, from 7:00 p.m. traffic will be cut on the ascent to “Torres Park†for the celebration of a concert.

COMPLEMENTARY MEASURES

As complementary measures, the side also establishes that evacuation routes will be considered, and therefore parking of vehicles in them will not be allowed during the duration of the holidays, from September 20 to 29, 2018. They will be the following:

The vicinity of the Municipal Cartagonova Stadium.

The road attached to the Festero Camp.

Canton Avenue.

The access bridge to the Cartagonova Municipal Stadium.

Also and for the safety of people and property, on Sunday 29 and once the assembly of the pyrotechnic show began in the vicinity of the Festero Camp, the parking of vehicles and the presence of people within a radius of 100 meters thereof will be prohibited.

The Local Police will denounce and arrange for the withdrawal to the Municipal Depot of any vehicles that are parked inside the Camp, in the prohibited areas around the Municipal Stadium, on the parade itinerary, in the places where the shows are held. in general and on evacuation routes.
