The Councilor for Education, Irene Ruiz, has held a meeting to report on the situation in which the project for the construction of the new school of La Aljorra is currently located, attended by representatives of the Pro-execution platform of the school, of the Federation of Fathers and Mothers of Cartagena (FAPA), of the Federation of Neighborhood Associations (Favcac), as well as the directors of the CEIP La Aljorra and Miguel de Cervantes.

“The main objective of this meeting is to inform first-hand the groups involved about the point at which the procedure for the construction of the new college of said council is located.

In addition, I wanted to know your point of view on this issue and that you identify this municipal government as an ally to solve the problem definitively, ”said the councilor.

Ruiz has already requested a meeting with the new Minister of Education, which seems to indicate, will be held in the coming weeks.

The councilor, as soon as she took office, asked the Autonomous Community for updated information on the status of the administrative procedure.

“At this time we can say that the contract corresponding to phase 1, which consists of the drafting of the preliminary draft, is about to be awarded by the Ministry.

This award is essential since, as soon as we have it, the City Council can move forward in the urbanization of the plot, ”he said.

As the councilor has specified “the government team will include in the municipal budgets, which will be approved in September, the budget item necessary for the second phase of urbanization, which amounts to 345,000 euros”.
