The Roman Theater Museum travels through its new exhibition the history of Carthaginians and Romans (30/07/2019)

On the occasion of the XXX Anniversary of the Carthaginian and Roman Festivities, declared of International Tourist Interest, the inauguration of the exhibition 'A History Made Party' will take place on Friday, August 2, at 8:00 p.m., in the Roman Theater Museum of Cartagena .

The temporary exhibition, which can be visited until October 7, is organized together with the Federation of Troops and Legions in collaboration with the City of Cartagena.

This sample aims to bring visitors the most important historical moments that are revived at the Fiestas.

The opening of the exhibition will be attended by the second deputy mayor, Manuel Padín and the Councilor for Culture, Carlos Piñana.

Unique parties

Cartagena is proud of its millenary past and its inhabitants are the engine of a unique Fiestas in the Mediterranean, the Fiestas de Carthaginians and Romans.

Thousands of people participate in them who, every year since 1990, relive one of the most important events of the Universal Ancient History, the Second Punic War, taking as a foothold the History and Archeology of Cartagena.

The exhibition allows through explanatory panels and an audiovisual approach to the events held in September.

The city was the scene of the conflict between Rome and Carthago, and during the days of Fiesta all the historical events that occurred, from the causes of the confrontation between the Carthaginian and Roman powers, the beginning of the conflict and its outcome are revived.

Thus, the visitor will take a tour of all the events that are commemorated at parties such as the Qart Hadasht Foundation by the Carthaginian Asdrúbal, Aníbal's wedding, the destruction of Sagunto, the departure of Aníbal's army to Rome and the Great Battle that It ends with the conquest of Qart Hadast at the hands of General Publio Cornelio Escipión.

Thousands of partiers, belonging to the Carthaginian troops and the Roman legions, prepare a program of events throughout the year to make the public take a real trip through the time tunnel and participate in the events that occurred in the third century before our was.
