Guided tours to Cueva Victoria begin (18/07/2019)

This Thursday, July 18, guided tours have begun in Cueva Victoria due to the work field that is being carried out in the site.

A group of 20 people have had the opportunity to visit the site accompanied by paleontologists, from the Cidaris Foundation that is excavating where they have explained the mine and the deposit.

360 people will have the opportunity to meet in person the intervention works in the cave.

The scheduled visits will continue this Friday, July 19.

As usual in this type of initiative, the places were completed within a few days of the call, showing the interest that the visit to the site causes.

The visitors have been able to enjoy a guided tour, where thanks to three characters played by the members of the team they have known the mining history of Cueva Victoria, the animals that populated the cave and around it a million ago of years and of course the patrimonial value of it.

The site is recognized as an Asset of Cultural Interest and as a Site of International Geological Interest.

Cueva Victoria combines different mining, historical, geological, paleontological and environmental values, whose value in the future will be a new tourist and economic revulsive for the environment.

The work field has a grant from the City of Cartagena, the General Directorate of Cultural Property of the Region of Murcia and the Cidaris Foundation, which also coordinates it.
