MC will ask the local government to demonstrate with facts if it supports the work of the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Cartagena (15/07/2019)

Last Saturday, a broad representation of the municipal MC Group, headed by its spokesperson, José López, attended the celebration of the summer concert with which the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Cartagena (JOSCT) celebrated its third anniversary.

The event was held in the Auditorium and Conference Center 'El Batel'.

Among his assistants was also the councilor from Cartagena, Ricardo Segado.

This morning, he has advanced that his training will require the tripartite government to improve the economic endowment that contemplates the agreement signed between the Youth Symphony Orchestra and the City Council, "doubling that subsidy so that the musical association can face without difficulties the promising future that It awaits you. "

At this point, Segado recalled that the Orchestra was born in 2016 thanks to the initiative of the young musician Álvaro Valdesueiro, who along with other restless ones for the musical formation and the culture, like its current principal director, Álvaro Pintado, promoted a project that included with the initial collaboration of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena.

Almost immediately, through its inaugural concert, it was confirmed the quality of a cultural proposal that won the support of the local government, led at that time by MC.

Thus, a few months after his birth, a collaboration agreement was signed between the Youth Council, whose headline was Segado, and JOSCT.

Justification for the increase in institutional support

From that moment, the trajectory of the Orchestra has been increasing, adding recognitions and performances that go far beyond the visible, continuing its formidable work in the training of musicians (more than one hundred make up its stock market today), in addition to to professionalize a cultural and professional sector in need of the support of the institutions.

In this context, the councilor of MC has said that "the great work they develop must be rewarded by increasing collaboration, both locally and regionally, as currently there is little help from the regional government."

Ricardo Segado recalled that "the agreement signed in 2017 was endowed with 10,000 euros, extended one year later to 15,000 euros thanks to an amendment of MC in the budgets of 2018. Without this amendment, the contribution of the socialist government would have been zero, since that they did not contemplate any type of allocation in their budget project ".

"We are at a key moment for the future of the Orchestra and from the closest administration should offer the final boost that allows these young talents continue to grow exponentially. Thus, the agreement to be signed this year must contemplate, at least , 30,000 euros to help our musicians, while claiming the involvement of regional government, "he argued.

"This leap in quality will allow the association to work in a more comfortable and hopeful way than ever before, and we hope that in the near future, in the short or medium term, we will be able to see our musicians playing as they deserve, collaborating with large and prestigious orchestras and turning the one here into one of them ", concluded Ricardo Segado.
