The local government board, meeting this Friday, June 12, has approved among its proposals a series of agreements and grants that fall within the areas of Social Services, Culture and Equality, mainly.

Thus, in the field of Social Services, the subsidy proposal granted by the Autonomous Community has been given the green light, through the Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities through the IMAS, to finance social and integral care programs for the gypsy town, with an amount of 55,000 euros.

With this grant, the Comprehensive Community Intervention Projects will be developed in the territorial area of ​​the Barriada Villalba and the Project of Promotion and Community Participation of the families that reside in the housing of public promotion of the Barriada Virgen de la Caridad, in addition to performances commemorations of the International Day of the Gypsy People.

It has also been agreed on a government board to authorize the grant request convened by the Autonomous Community to finance, in local entities of more than 20,000 inhabitants, participatory local development pacts to promote social inclusion and fight against poverty and discrimination, in the framework of the regional operational program of the European Social Fund.

With regard to the Culture Area, the collaboration agreement between the City of Cartagena and the Cultural Association 'Ahora Teatro' has been put in place for the organization of the XXI edition of the Comedy Contest of La Palma, for which will receive a grant of 2,700 euros, as well as the agreement of the City Council with the Neighborhood Association of Pozo Estrecho, as organizing entity of the International Musical Composition Contest of Pasodobles 'Villa de Pozo Estrecho', for the granting of a subsidy in 2019 of 3,500 euros

Another proposal that has come forward, is the acceptance, from the Equality Area, of the subsidy for the provision of services and programs in the area of ​​care for women victims of gender violence, as well as the expansion and improvement of said services.

In this regard, 158,565.17 euros will be allocated to the Center for Specialized Care for Women Victims of Gender Violence (CAVI), and the amount of 60,000 euros to the City Council Shelter.

IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE TAXI SECTOR

In the course of the meeting of the local government board, at the proposal of the councilor of the Infrastructure area, María Casajús, to approve the list of stops, as well as the weekly rest calendar, the sector of the Taxi in Cartagena for the year 2019.

An action that is the result of having agreed with the taxi associations operating in the municipality, 'this is an agreement reached by vote of the interested parties and establishes two days of freedom, which improves their quality of life by establishing Percentages of rest, 'stressed the mayor.

In addition to the authorized taxi stops and the vehicle capacity of each of them, the rest regime is also established (two days a week) and shift of the licenses along with the clearance codes.
