The municipal government increases to half a hundred police officers in practice from October (11/07/2019)

The staff of Local Police of the City of Cartagena will increase its number in fifty agents for the fall, after Thursday, the Department of the Interior Department has resumed the call launched during the first quarter of the year.

As explained by the mayor of the Area, Esperanza Nieto, 'what has been done is to expand the call for 15 Local Police posts that came out in March, whose examinations have already been carried out, adding the 28 vacancies that have occurred in the template to June 30, taking advantage of the fact that the bases of the call allowed to increase that number to cover the vacancies that could arise during the process.

At the moment, the candidates have already been called according to the order of approval in the aforementioned call and will begin the physical tests next week, although according to the provisions of the Personnel Department, before September there will be another 6 vacancies, which will also be incorporated into the places to cover.

Thus, it is expected that as of October, there will be at least 49 new agents performing the practices in the streets of the municipality.

"This is a particularly important measure, given the current situation of the local police staff in Cartagena, which has been greatly reduced, largely due to the high number of retirements," Nieto recalled.
