Next Wednesday, June 26, the auditorium of the Roman Theater Museum of Cartagena will host the presentation of the new novel by Manuel Enrique Mira, 'The Last Key', which has been published by the Ateneo de Sevilla, to be a finalist in the prestigious award of the same name, in the year of its fiftieth anniversary.
The author will be accompanied in the presentation by Ana Escarabajal and by Dr. Jesús de la Peña.

Return to Sefarad, the longed-for homeland ", tells the story of two friars, former comrades in arms, which is intertwined with that of Tobi ben Haimi and other Jews of Murcia.
Stories that are developed in Murcia, North Africa, Cordoba, Lucena, Cartagena, Lisbon, Olivenza, Thessaloniki ... Little by little the author weaves remnants of the life of the different characters full of courage, fights, revenges and everything with that curtain of the fund that was the Inquisition and the Sephardic diaspora.
A choral novel, where the protagonists show us that exodus and the desire to return to Sefarad and to that house of which with such zeal, one day far they kept the key.
Precisely that feeling, which was transmitted from generation to generation, made many Jewish families keep for centuries that "last key" of their home, which is the title of the novel.
Manuel Enrique Mira was born in Murcia in 1944, studied in the Marists, and the Alfonso X el Sabio Institute, but it was in Cartagena where he trained as an Industrial Technical Engineer.
After his retirement, he devoted himself to writing: stories, poems ... until he started writing his first novel, "The murmur of time" work that received the prestigious "Book Murciano of the Year 2014" and reaches its 5th edition.
