Jordi Cruz and Pablo González Conejero will turn Cartagena into a Port of Taste (05/06/2019)

The Catalan chef, television star, Jordi Cruz;

and his colleague Pablo González Conejero, also included by the Michelin Guide among the great chefs of Spain, will be the stars of the gastronomic contest 'Cartagena Puerto de Sabor', which will take place on the esplanade of the Port of Cartagena from Friday 14 to Sunday June 16.

The gastronomic contest is organized by the newspaper 'La Verdad' with the collaboration of the City of Cartagena.

In the presentation of the event, this Wednesday, June 5, has been the Councilor for Education, Social Services and Trasnsparencia in Cartagena, Mercedes García.

González Conejero, creator of the restaurant Cabaña Buenavista, will participate in a 'showcooking' or gastronomic demonstration together with the chef from Cartagena Magoga, also recognized nationally as one of the revelations in the latest edition of 'Madrid Fusión'.

The two chefs will make a demonstration with preparations that will be based on the mujol.

Jordi Cruz, chef of reference with several restaurants reputed in Barcelona as the 'Abac' will visit, on Saturday 15 June, the fifteen exhibitors of the fair and will give luster to the tasting of different preparations based on Jimbee melons.

The Port Authority also collaborates in the event, giving up the space in which it will be held: the Royal Scale.

It will also have a representation of the company José Díaz, who will serve Asian, vegetarian restaurant La Sella, La Terraza de Juan, Bodegas Socum, Los Antonios Restaurant Los Nietos, Altuntún, Bodegas Maset, Casa Cassiaro Restaurant and Confectionery Balbino

The latter will serve will be the desserts "with a variety that goes from torrijas, crackling cake, Red Velvet cake, polkas (a creamy cacuelita with chocolate), toffee cake, flowers and a special merengue called 'quitapenas'" , according to its architect, Balbino López.

The icing will be placed by the Restaurant Eszencia, of the El Batel Auditorium, with its chef Pablo Martínez at the front, who will prepare various preparations with tuna, thanks to a company of reference in the sector.
