The Route of the Fortresses donates 52,200 euros to charities of Cartagena (04/06/2019)

The tenth edition of the Route of the Fortresses has donated 52.2000 euros to thirty charities, working for social purposes.

The act of delivery of the checks was made this Tuesday, June 4, at the Marine Infantry School 'General Albacete y Fuster' (EIMGAF).

The ceremony was chaired by the Councilor for Social Services Acting of the City of Cartagena, Mercedes García and the Admiral chief of the Arsenal of Cartagena, Vice Admiral, Aniceto Rosique Nieto.

The Route of the Fortresses was held on April 6 and in which 3,800 runners participated, having more than 8,000 applications.

The 52,200 euros raised comes from the registrations of the participants and the amounts donated by companies, mainly from the area of ​​Cartagena.

The event was also attended by representatives of companies, organizations, institutions, groups and individuals, who have participated and collaborated in the organization of this test.

At the end of the closing ceremony, the thirty associations have received, from the acting Social Services mayor, Mercedes García, and the admiral chief of the Arsenal of Cartagena, Vice Admiral, Aniceto Rosique Nieto, his corresponding check, which has oscillated between 2,200 and 800 euros.

The beneficiaries have been the Children's Home (Casa Cuna), Little Sisters of the Poor, Caritas Cartagena, the Association Pablo Ugarte Against Childhood Cancer, Hospitality Santa Teresa, the Solidarity Dining 'Jesus Master and Pastor' of Caritas, AFECTAMUR, ASIDO Cartagena , Cystic Fibrosis Region of Murcia, APANDA, Red Cross, Association Our Lady of Carmen, Multiple Sclerosis Association of Cartagena and Region, Charity Association San Vicente de Paúl, ASTEAMUR, ASTRADE, Foundation Tiovivo Equinoterapia, APICES, Telephone of Hope, Club Adapted Sports Icue Cartagena, Strides on Wheels, Canvi Cartagena, Spanish Association Syndrome RETT, Cartagena Board of the Spanish Association Against Cancer, AFIBROCAR, TP Cartagena MM, ASTUS, Cartagena for Charity or the Holy Foundation and Real Hospitality of Charity Cartagena

In addition, the sponsors, technicians and managers that have made it possible for the Route of the Fortresses to celebrate its tenth anniversary this year have been presented.

Prior to the donation of the money raised, the organizers have explained the great logistical planning involved in organizing the route, with a distance of 54 kilometers through the most representative castles and fortresses of the city.

It has also made a balance of this latest edition in which athletes from 44 Spanish provinces have participated.

The test also arouses interest in all age groups, having participants from 18 to 74 years, although the section with more enrolled is between 30 and 50. To conclude, the organizers have said that despite the Great demand to participate in the test, it is not easy to finish it, this year they have achieved 79 percent of the runners.

In addition, during the closing gala Felix Alonso Nieto was awarded after proclaiming himself winner of the Photographic Contest of this sporting event, consecrated in the city.
