The Councilman of Culture acting Cartagena, David Martinez, and the president of the "Asociación Cultural Proconciertos de Levante", Laura Llamas Soto, have proceeded this Wednesday May 29 at the Palace of Cartagena to the signing of the collaboration agreement between the Cartagena City Council and the Cartagena Symphony Orchestra approved by the local government board on April 11, 2019. With the signing of this collaboration agreement, the Cartagena City Council is committed to the promotion, promotion, coordination and organization of cultural activities and artistic.
Through the dissemination and enjoyment of music, it is intended to facilitate access to all kinds of cultural events to the maximum number of citizens of the town.
At the same time this agreement responds to the musical concerns of young Cartagena, creating a framework of collaboration with the Symphony Orchestra of Cartagena, which aims to provide a professional outlet for young people trained at the Conservatory of Music of Cartagena.
For its part, the "Asociación Cultural Proconciertos de Levante", through its different groups, such as the Chamber Orchestra of Cartagena and Cartagena Symphony Orchestra (hereinafter OSCT), is committed to participate in those activities promoted by the City Council of Cartagena in the promotion and enjoyment of classical music.
This framework of collaboration is specified in:
1. Celebration of a joint concert (at least once a year).
2. Preferential collaboration of members of the OSCT when the symphony orchestra needs to expand its staff.
3. Teaching of sectional rehearsals by members of the symphony orchestra to contribute to the preparation of the concerts of the OSCT.
4. Cooperation between directors, assuming the director of the OSCT the figure of assistant director to the professional orchestra.
