Twelve Salesian centers from all over Spain will participate in the XIX Intercensal Games (22/05/2019)

A new edition of the Intersales Games begins.

An edition, the nineteenth, which, besides being a sporting, educational and solidary event, will serve as a preamble to the celebrations that are being prepared for the celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the Salesian institution in Cartagena, which will celebrate 50 years, in 2020

The XIX Intersales Games, organized by the Salesian institution in Cartagena and in which the Department of Sports of the City Council of Cartagena collaborates, will take place on Saturday, June 1, from 8:15 to 8:30 p.m., at the Salesianos school , located in the Barrio de los Dolores of Cartagena, and will gather more than 2 thousand people around them.

The presentation of this sporting event took place this Wednesday May 22nd and was attended by the Councilor for Sports of the City of Cartagena, Manuel Mora, the General Director of Sports of the Region of Murcia, Alonso Gómez, the director of the Salesian house in Cartagena, José Joaquín Coma, and the general coordinator of the meeting, Francisco Soler.

The mayor of Sports, Manuel Mora, said that "athletes and coaches come from 12 Salesian centers in Zaragoza, Valencia, Alicante, Elche, Cabezo de Torres, Villena, Alcoy, Ibi, El Campello and the municipality of Cartagena itself."

For his part, the general director of Sports of the Region of Murcia, Alonso Gómez, pointed out the work of all participants in this event and said that it is a "very Cartagena" event, which needs a lot of work to be carried out years after year

Soccer 8, indoor soccer, volleyball, mini basketball and basketball will be the sports in which the athletes will participate.

At the moment, 817 have registered. According to Francisco Soler, general coordinator of the meeting, the participating categories are "alevín, cadet y infantil".

The inscriptions for the different sports and categories will be made through htpp: //inscripcionesdeporte.salesianos.edu.

The cost of registration in these games will be 16 euros per participant and includes the solidarity euro, which is going to be published in the campaign 'No hay sueños imposible' (no haysueñosimposibles.org.).

During the opening ceremony, which will take place at 9 am, the offering will be made to the Virgin Mary Help of Christians.

Each delegation will prepare their basket, which will be donated to Cáritas.

The staple foods that will go to the NGO are: macaroni, tomato cans, biscuits, spaghetti, oil, milk, lentils, hygiene products, noodles or cans.

This year the Intersales Games become mini Olympics, thanks to the participation of Carthaginians and Romans.

Francisco Soler stressed that "there will be an Olympic torch, a cauldron and the different delegations will walk with their flags."

In addition to the different tracks where the competition takes place, there will be areas for leisure and relaxation, where a stage for music concerts will be set up and where family members can also have picnics.

The director of the Salesian house in Cartagena, José Joaquín Coma, concluded by stating that "the important thing is not to compete but to participate and promote friendship and coexistence".

Under the slogan "First, the last", all participating athletes will get a medal and a gift because "everyone wins and nobody is the last".
