The museums of Cartagena received 61,175 visitors on their big night (20/05/2019)

The Department of Youth of the City of Cartagena, has welcomed the good reception has been between Cartagena and visitors the XI edition of the Night of Museums, which has received a total of 61,175 participants.

Last Saturday, May 18, opened a total of 54 spaces, 30 of them museums, being the Naval Museum and the Isaac Peral Room, the space that collected a greater number of visits, with a total of 10 thousand: 5.100 of the Isaac Peral Room and 4.900 of the Naval Museum.

It was followed by the Museum of the Roman Theater, with 7,096 visits, the Military Historical Museum of the Artillery Park, with 5,890 visits, the National Museum of Underwater Archeology - ARQUA that reached the 4,774 visitors, and the MURAM and Aguirre Palace, with 3,583 visits

It is also worth noting the opening of the Glass Museum, which with its blown exhibition attracted 1,450 visitors to the Santa Lucía neighborhood, and the set of museum spaces of the Port of Cultures, with a total of 8,035 visits, especially the Museum. Refuge of the Civil War, with a total of 2,538.

It was followed by the Roman Forum, with 1,859 people, the Castillo de la Concepción, with 1,185 visits, the Punic Wall, with 957 views, and the Panoramic Elevator, with 874 visitors.

Augusteum and the Casa de la Fortuna that opened for the first time in the morning received a total of 622 visits.

"Once again, the Night of the Museums becomes the most relevant cultural event in our city.

Its more than 200 activities hosted thousands of people from Cartagena, other parts of the region and the rest of Spain who enjoy a rich historical heritage as this year for the first time the Roman Amphitheater.

The figures of this edition and the atmosphere that is lived in the city have a positive impact on the hospitality industry and the service sector ", said the Councilor for Youth, David Martínez.

Among the municipal spaces, the Roman Amphitheater stands out, with more than 3,000 visits, 2,527 visits to the Municipal Archaeological Museum, more than 2,500 visits to the Municipal Archive, 2,370 to the Consistorial Palace, 1,700 to the Molina Palace, and the 2,500 visits of the exhibitions of the Local Police of Cartagena and the Centenary of the Ephesus in the San Miguel building.

The UPCT opened the different spaces of its university campuses: MITI and ETSII with more than 1,100 visitors, as well as the different activities in the CIM, with more than 2,000 visits.

The Churches of Santa María de Gracia and Santo Domingo, also joined this festival of culture hosting exhibitions and samples of the heritage of the Marraja and the Risen Confraternities.

Likewise, the Chapel of the Christ of Mercy opened its doors to this cultural night.

The Economic Society of Friends of the Country, which received a total of 500 visitors and the Casino de Cartagena, with more than 300 visitors, did not miss the meeting.

As every year, the guided routes were very well received.

In the 36 routes and programmed guided visits were enrolled 1,350 people, a great success of participation as well as the 20 children's workshops scheduled to participate in this festival of culture to children, who sold out, more than 500 entries in total .

The web portal www.nochemuseoscartagena.es has received a total of 31,421 visits, while the social networks of La Noche had a reach of more than 28,468 people.
