The Roman Theater Museum of Cartagena will open for 15 hours followed by the International Museum Day (15/05/2019)

This Saturday, May 18, on the occasion of the International Day of Museums and coinciding with the celebration of the Night of the Museums, the Roman Theater Museum of Cartagena will open its doors for 15 hours uninterrupted, from 10 am to 1 am the dawn.

At 11:30 am, the family activity 'Escipión versus Aníbal will take place.

The battle begins...'.

In collaboration with Carthaginians and Romans, participants can learn about the relevant events of the Second Punic War and its protagonists.

In addition, you will attend a meeting with Hannibal and Scipio.

The children will be part of a troop or a legion, and celebrate the triumph in the Roman Theater of Cartagena.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the artist Victoria Chezner will paint live in the Temporary Exhibition Hall of the Roman Theater Museum in Cartagena.

In 'Tu presencia', Chezner is part of the cultural character of the landscape, and shows a glance at the same time panoramic and meticulous, contextual and individual, where drawing and painting, perspective, and color work convey that commitment of the artist with beauty and with nature.

At 17:30 hours, the Roman Theater Museum of Cartagena offers the possibility of holding a family workshop, 'THEATRUM.

Spend a day of theater 'where moving to the past we can know the Roman society, its religion and politics, how were the great buildings of shows in the Roman Empire;

the types of works that were represented, the people who acted in them ... In addition, the participants will be able to test the acoustics of the theater.

In the evening, from 9:00 pm, at the Temporary Exhibitions Hall of the Roman Theater Museum of Cartagena, the tenor Pedro Noguera accompanied by piano will perform romantic ballads by Il Divo, Andrea Bocelli, Céline Dion and Whitney Houston among others.

On the stage of the Roman Theater in Cartagena at 10 pm the ballet group of the Margarita Amante Dance School will perform a fragment of the opera 'La Traviata'.

During this day you can also visit the temporary exhibition 'Roman Painting in Hispania'.

About the International Congress of Roman Painting in Hispania, you can enjoy an explanatory exhibition about the new pictorial groups, as well as the evolution of their study with procedures and analysis techniques that allow to know the production processes of the mural painting, and therefore its conservation and value as integral elements of the heritage.
