On the occasion of the celebrations of its 50th anniversary, the IES Isaac Peral has organized this Tuesday, April 23, Book Day, the 1st edition of the literature and philosophical dissertation contest 'Mª Jesús Huertas to Education for Coexistence'.
Ana María Sibouh and Sabrina Mulero in the story categories, and Marta Sabiote in philosophical dissertation, have been the winners.
The Councilor for Education of the City of Cartagena, Mercedes García, was present at the awards ceremony.
In addition to the edile of Education, have also been present: the president of the Sierra Minera Foundation, Juan Miguel Margalef, the vice chancellor of students, university extension and sports of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, Sergio Amat, and the director of the IES Isaac Peral , José Martínez.
The Councilor for Education of Cartagena, Mercedes García, has highlighted the values ​​that this prize represents.
The councilor has encouraged all attendees to spread respect for human rights and promote coexistence between people of different cultures.
García congratulated the organizers of the event and encouraged them to continue with this initiative.
The departments of Philosophy, Spanish Language and Literature and the team of IES Isaac Peral of Cartagena decided to create this award on September 24, 2018. With it, the culture of peace, tolerance, dialogue, solidarity is honored and kept alive. and respect for human rights, that the professor of Philosophy Mª Jesús Huertas López left in the entire educational community, as she passed through this institute.
As a culmination to the act, IES students Isaac Peral have played two songs with flute and have sung two current issues.
