The Expeura program prepares the election of the ten young people who will travel to the United Kingdom this summer (23/04/2019)

This Tuesday, April 23, has begun the preparation of the people selected to participate in Expeura 2019 funded by the City of Cartagena.

Ten young people will be interested in having a professional experience abroad to improve their language skills and as a result improve their chances of accessing the world of work.

Once the selection process is finished, they begin their preparation with an intensive English course, specific to the sector where they will work and to be able to face the first weeks, where they will face many difficult situations of adaptation.

In addition to the English course, they will have individualized tutorials where the characteristics of each participant will be adjusted to the job position to be developed in the United Kingdom.

This is the second edition of the Expeura Program coordinated by the Department of Youth and is aimed at young people, preferably beneficiaries of the Youth Guarantee System, and pursues three main objectives:

- Promote the personal and professional development of the young people of Cartagena.

- Promote your access to the world of work, completing your curriculum.

- Develop your language skills, improving your English language level.

The duration of the Program is 3 months of stay abroad, which will start between 4 and 12 weeks after making the selection.

Between the months of June and September is scheduled to start and end your stay.

The jobs will be based on the level of studies, knowledge of English and professional experience.

They cover all occupations that may exist in a hotel complex.

The position will depend on the level of English that is demonstrated, being able to improve the employment if they increase their level of English during their stay.

In terms of working conditions, employment contract, payment of taxes, medical insurance, etc., the corresponding labor regulations of the host country (United Kingdom) will apply.

The employment relationship will be with the employer directly.

The working day is established, approximately, between 30 and 40 hours per week.

Accommodation and maintenance are carried out in the hotel where the young people develop their work, their cost will be deducted from the salary.

The gross monthly salary will depend on the job and the number of hours worked.
