Sweet, savory dishes and various liqueurs were tasted on Palma (29/03/2019)

La Palma celebrated yesterday, March 28, in the afternoon, the 33rd edition of the Cooking Contest, organized by the Association of Housewives Santa Florentina.

A gastronomic contest that was attended by the Councilor for Equality of the City of Cartagena, David Martinez, and where they tasted 14 deadlines, 12 sweet and about 6 homemade liqueurs.

In the Assembly Hall of the Civic Center of La Palma, one more year, the Housewives showed their culinary skills in a contest enlivened with the most popular songs.

Among the salty dishes, the jury was able to taste a seafood rice, stuffed squid, meatballs in sauce, an avocado tartare with prawns, liver with onion and various traditional stews.

After tasting the salty dishes, I play the dessert turn.

Cheese cake with sugar figures in the shape of mice, a chocolate cake decorated with ice cream cones, orange cake, strawberries cakes, biscuits, cookies and crispy Easter flowers were the sweet dishes that not only the jury tasted but also the assistants and participants of the contest.

Both the sweet and savory dishes were accompanied by wines and around 6 homemade liqueurs that competed in this gastronomic event.

After the tasting, the jury, the Councilor for Equality and the president of the Santa Florentina Housewives Association, María del Carmen Martínez, presented the prizes to the winners of the contest, ending this 33rd edition.
