We can denounce that the Rambla del Albujón still not cleaned (22/03/2019)

The Segura Hydrographic Confederation tells the City Council that it is local competition and the Government looks the other way despite the fact that there is a complaint lodged since September of last year,

On September 14, Cartagena Sí Se Puede (PODEMOS) denounced before the Prosecutor's Office, Segura Hydrographic Confederation, CARM, City Council and several other organizations, the uncontrolled situation of accumulated discharges in the Rambla del Albujón as it passes through the municipality of Cartagena.

The cold drop threatened once more and it was very dangerous not to act immediately in the cleaning and removal of waste left in the bed of the same: appliances, debris, street furniture, agricultural waste and all kinds of waste contaminated the ravine and the surrounding rural environment.

Pilar Marcos, spokesperson for the municipal group and candidate for mayor, explained that: "The Confederation replied in writing to the City Council on March 7, stating that municipal powers are on collection and treatment of waste, as dictated by art.

25.2 of the Law of Bases of Local Regime, so we will ask in the next Plenary session of this month of March, if this Government has already acted for the collection of the waste object of the complaint and if the City Council is not considered an administration competent to carry out such tasks, what he believes he is and if he has done something for that administration to fulfill its obligations in our municipality. "

The mayor of Podemos has continued explaining that they will also ask if the Government of Ana Belén Castejón considers acceptable the state of our ravines, and what are the specific responsibilities and tasks that correspond to the City Council in the defense and conservation of ramblas, rural roads and natural spaces of the municipality.

Marcos has finished confirming: "We will also ask about the cleanliness of the ravine in the section that affects Bahía Bella and the necessary deviation that it needs.

The City Council and the CHS are still deaf, and this is not only a problem that affects the Mar Menor, but there is a risk for neighbors.

For this reason we have already asked urban planning for some time that in the new General Plan include the detour of the Rambla as it passes through this urbanization. "
