and Kyekyeku & Ghanalogue Highlife were proclaimed winners of the cultural project Ghana Vis a Vis, organized by Casa África, and that will allow them to make a tour of Spain next July that will take them to perform in a dozen music festivals throughout the Spanish territory, among which is La Mar de Músicas de Cartagena.

The jury of this project, formed by a dozen Spanish cultural promoters, mostly directors of music festivals or musical producers specialized in African music, among which was the team of La Mar de Músicas, wanted to highlight the "amazing talent "of the ten bands that have performed live for two days at the Accra Cultural Information Center.

The decision on the two winning groups, they said, has been "extremely difficult to take", and they considered that both FRA !, a band of very young guys (an average of 24 years old) that fuses traditional Ghanaian rhythms like highlife, with Modern styles ranging from indie to rock, such as Kyekyeku & Ghanalogue Highlife (pronounced che-che-kú), a group that modernizes the vintage rhythms of the African country with a virtuoso leader on guitar, "will be great exponents of the quality of the wonderful and diverse Ghanaian music scene for the Spanish public ".

Vis a Vis, the cultural cooperation project that Casa África has been organizing for ten years, and each year chooses a different country from sub-Saharan Africa, was held this year with the support of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture of the Government of Ghana, its cultural organism Creative Arts, and with the collaboration of the Professional Association of Musicians of Ghana (MUSIGA), the Embassy of Spain in Ghana and the Embassy of Ghana in Spain.

The event was also attended by representatives of La Mar de Músicas, the Pirineos Sur festival (Sállent de Gállego, Huesca), Etnosur (Alcalá La Real, Jaén), Imagina Funk (Torres, Jaén), MUMES and Cantos de Mujer (Tenerife) , Canarias Jazz International Festival & Más Heineken (Canarias), Sin Sal SON Estrella Galicia (Redondela, Pontevedra), Diputación de Jaén, and producers The Project (Guitar Festival, Barcelona) and Dr. Zhivago, as well as the General Society of Authors and Publishers of Spain (SGAE)

In his intervention before the ten groups that acted in the final phase of this musical contest, which seeks to generate direct contacts between Spanish cultural promoters and African musicians, in addition to increasing the presence of African music in our country, the head of the The Culture and Education area of ​​Casa África, Juan Jaime, thanked the Government of Ghana for its collaboration, which has prepared "a spectacular production of the same and has made this tenth edition of Vis a Vis one of the best organized of all his story".

FRA !, Gyataboum and the Lions, Lamisi, Weku Kronkron Band, Ssue and the Ananse Band, Yibor Afric Band, Kyekyeku & Ghanalogue Highlife, Elom and Soulstreet were the ten bands that acted before the Spanish promoters in Accra, elected after a call public to which a total of 65 Ghanaian bands were presented through a website enabled for the occasion.
