Cs will ask to extend the training in first aid and the accession of Cartagena to the European program 'Kids Save Lives' (14/03/2019)

The Municipal Citizens Group (Cs) has announced that at the next regular plenary session it will defend a motion for the City of Cartagena to include in the Cartagena Project Cardio-Protected City (CCC) the adhesion to the European program 'Kids Save Lives', promoted by the European Council of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, so that from the Councils of Education and Health and in coordination with the educational centers and the Ministry of Education increase the workshops aimed at students between 12 and 18 years for training in basic techniques of resuscitation include notions in the use of automated defibrillators.

In addition, Cs Cartagena will include in its motion that the workshops regarding emergencies and first aid provided by the School of Public Safety of Cartagena (ESPAC) extend to the AMPAS, responsible for clubs and sports associations of the municipality, among other groups.

On the other hand, Cs believes it is necessary for the City Council to promote a study to assess the level of skills in first aid and basic life support that has the teaching staff of Cartagena, both in municipal children's schools, City Council competition, as in other public centers in collaboration with the Ministry of Education.

On February 13 began at the ESPAC (School of Public Safety of Cartagena) the 'Training of Trainers, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and use of DEA' in 12 primary schools' that since then and until this March They bring together teachers from schools in the Comarca with the common goal of receiving precise knowledge to be able to apply later to their students.

The orange training will ask at the next plenary for the development of training courses in Basic Life Support and use of defibrillators that the PSOE Government announced last November aimed at schools, shops, neighborhood associations and sports entities

Citizens was the one who achieved in 2016 that the municipal government took the necessary measures to ensure the presence of DESA (External Semi-Automatic Defibrillators) in public spaces and municipal facilities with greater influx of citizens and especially in sports, in order to increase health security in the municipality.

The proposal was approved by unanimity.

In addition, in the text of the orange training initiative, the request was included that first aid courses and the use of defibrillators be given to sports monitors and personnel of sports facilities, and to ensure the presence of trained personnel in the training. the use of DESA in those facilities where they are placed.
