The Youth Center of Quarries hosts a Day of Free Time and Youth (12/03/2019)

The City of Cartagena, aware of the need for healthy leisure alternatives for young people in the municipality, promotes a Day of Free Time and Youth, organized by the Youth Council, which will take place on Saturday March 23, at the Youth Center de Canteras and whose objective will be focused on analyzing the use of free time by the youth population.

The Jornada Tiempo Libre y Juventud is aimed mainly at members of associations, entities and youth groups;

technical staff of municipal departments who work with young people;

teaching staff of secondary education centers in Cartagena and the UPTC;

professionals from companies and organizations and, of course, the young people of Cartagena interested in the subject.

In this sense the Councilor for Youth, David Martínez Noguera, stressed that "all of them and through working groups, will study the necessary proposals so that the young people of the municipality have the opportunity to enjoy a healthy and inclusive leisure that make you feel protagonists ".

The day will feature a round table and various presentations by different professionals and experts in the field of youth, who will share their experiences with the rest of the participants.

Among the different interventions, the presence of:

Luis Ruiz Aja, who will make the presentation 'Nights and Youth.

Guidelines for Intervening in Juvenile Leisure ', he is a youth technician of the City Council of Santander since 1999, editor of the First Integral Youth Plan of the Santander Town Hall.

Creator and promoter of the alternative nightlife program 'La Noche es Joven', a reference program in alternative nightlife, nationwide.

Laura Granados Parra, sociologist and monitor of leisure and free time, in the Esplai Ciudadanía Comprometida Foundation, is an expert in research and detection of social needs, dynamisation of groups and in direct action with children and youth at risk of exclusion, and M.ª del Mar Sánchez Amor, coordinator of the Youth Council of the City of Cartagena and responsible for leisure and participation programs, will be responsible for coordinating the round table on experiences in youth programs and leisure.

Juan Francisco Berenguer Martínez, who will present the paper Tiempo Libre, entertain young people or give them prominence ?, is a social educator, and has coordinated and directed projects and programs aimed at young people and adolescents in the last 30 years.

Currently coordinates the Socio-Educational Intervention Service for Adolescents at risk of exclusion from the City of Murcia -Project 13-17-, and the Young Plan of Molina de Segura-Youth Strategy 2018-2023.

"With the conclusions drawn from the joint work of all the agents involved will be developed a document that will serve for the implementation in the future of a Plan of Action in Leisure and Youth," said the mayor.
