The UCAM will hold the 1st Health and Sports Fair on Monday and Tuesday in Cartagena (09/03/2019)

The president of the UCAM, José Luis Mendoza, the Minister of Health, Manuel Villegas, and the Spanish athlete with the most Olympic medals, David Cal, will open this event at 11 a.m. at 11:00 a.m. at the Heroes de Cavite square. There will be 30 exhibitors of physical activity, health and healthy eating, as well as medical tests together with exhibitions and sports competitions.

The Campus of the Catholic University San Antonio in Cartagena has organized for Monday 11 and Tuesday 12, from 10 am to 2 pm and from 5 pm to 7:30 pm, a sample to contribute to education for health among the Cartagena and promote , therefore, sports and healthy eating, which will be attended by the Spanish athlete with the most Olympic medals, the canoeist David Cal, with 6 distinctions.

In this initiative, sponsored by the General Directorate of Sports of the Regional Government, visitors can meet, in direct contact with teachers and students of university degrees in Nursing, Physiotherapy, Sports Science, Psychology, Podiatry, Medicine, Dentistry, Nutrition and Dietetics, Food Technology and Gastronomy, these studies and professional practice, as well as the training cycles of Oral Hygiene, Nutrition, Sports Animation and Physical Conditioning that are offered at the facilities of the UCAM.

In the 30 stand of the fair will be biomechanical studies of the foot, prevention in the field of geriatric podiatry, demonstrations of functional bandages, tests of physical assessment and anthropometry, cardiovascular risk controls, spirometry and elastography.

In addition, it will teach to have a proper oral hygiene, as well as the care of dental prostheses and cardiopulmonary resuscitation workshops, identification of allergens, natural toxins and healthy dishes.

During the two days there will be traditional games and sports activities, such as an ecological race on Monday at 11:30 am, a gymkhana with basketball and Brutus Challenge at 12 o'clock, or in the afternoon, a children's show of modern dance and another of the UCAM Cartagena Women's Table Tennis.

On Tuesday at 11 o'clock Viva Gym will take a V-Yoga class and a Body Combat class to the fair, as well as the Athletics Club UCAM Cartagena will organize athletics games.

In the afternoon there will be a postural hygiene workshop and back school run by AIRAM Physiotherapy Cabinets, as well as a Cross Training organized by the Santa Ana Sports Club.

Among the exhibitors and sponsors in this fair are Harimsa, Practiser, Hery Schein, MedicalScan, Podiatech and Salud21, although there will also be a stand at Virgen de la Caridad Medical Center, Marnys, the ARQUA restaurant and the Cartagena Health Area.
