The Popular University of the Department of Culture of the City of Cartagena continues working in the neighborhoods and councils of the municipality of Cartagena with a wide range of free workshops ranging from crafts, nutrition, photography, film, music and dance.
In the first two months of the year the demand has reached the figure of forty-eight workshops, and an estimate is foreseen that will surpass the figures of the previous years that reached the eighty workshops.
Which ratifies the boom of this project that since its inception has had an upward progression.
The craft workshops are still present and the participants develop their creativity by carrying out projects with materials such as textiles, cork, wood, wire or cardboard.
Through the workshops of 'Huerto Chef', 'Cocina' and 'Nutrición', the assistants take care of their health, while they learn to identify and cultivate culinary herbs, knowing the properties and benefits of food and elaborating original recipes.
To keep the mind in good shape, in the workshop of 'Active Aging' helps to work in an enjoyable way to delay cognitive problems.
With the workshops 'Nendo Dango' and 'Honey Tasting: Friends of the Bees' the Popular University acquires a commitment to the environment, awakening interest in the protection and improvement of the same through reforestation and the actions that from each One of us can start up for sustainability.
The 'Batucada' workshop offers the possibility of bringing the musical culture closer to the neighborhoods and, at the same time, taking advantage of the benefits provided by the drum circles.
On the other hand, photography with mobile devices teaches us to capture better images with simple tricks that will surprise us.
As news the interested groups will be able to live the cinema in their neighborhood with a film forum of the film 'Volver' sharing opinions, ideas and emotions guided by an expert and with the workshop 'Your neighborhood in photographs' will be able to show their neighborhood photographing places, corners and people, to show them later in an exhibition in the premises of each association.
