The next days 8, 9 and 10 will take place in the Port of Cartagena the X edition of the Grand Trophy Spar 'City of Cartagena' Optimist class 2019, organized by the Real Club de Regatas de Cartagena in collaboration with the Department of Sports of the City from Cartagena.
This Wednesday, appeared before the media for presentation in the press room of the Consistorial Palace, first, the Councilor for Sports, Manuel Mora, the general director of Sports of the Autonomous Region of Murcia, Alonso Gómez, the vocal of Vela of the Real Club of Regatas of Cartagena, Carlos González-Costea, with the presence of the president of the Sailing Federation of the Region of Murcia, Arturo García, and the president of the RCRC, José García-Bravo.
The X Grand Trophy Spar 'City of Cartagena' will feature 130 sailors of the Optimist class, between 8 and 14 years old, from all over the peninsula but also from outside cities such as Ibiza and Melilla, and international sailors from countries such as Norway or Poland.
All of them will remain in our city during the weekend of the competition, enjoying their culture and heritage, thus strengthening the importance of sport in Cartagena tourism.
Among the participants coming from our coast are sailors from the yacht clubs of Los Nietos and Islas Menores, as well as neighboring municipalities such as Los Alcázares and Villa de San Pedro.
The competitions will take place on Friday, which is scheduled to take place 9 sleeves, and on Saturday, while Sunday will be the delivery of prizes to the winners in the Club de Regatas de Cartagena.
Eduardo Gallego, technical director of the RCRC, has commented, finally, the complexity that supposes the organization of a sporting event of this magnitude.
