Yesterday, the councilors of MC Cartagena, Isabel García, María José Soler and Ricardo Segado, accompanied by the cartagenerista member in the Neighborhood Board of Isla Plana La Azohía, Pedro Celdrán, held a working meeting with neighbors, groups and associations of Isla Plana, La Azohía and Campillo de Adentro.

During the meeting, which took place in the social area of ​​Isla Plana, Soler made a brief presentation about the work done by MC during his Government responsibilities in the City of Cartagena, registering the best economic results in the history of the Consistory in a work based on efficient management and transparency.

For its part, MC municipal deputy spokesperson, Isabel García, explained some of the actions promoted by the training Cartagena in this environment.

First, he lamented the lack of attention of the western part of the Costa de Cartagena by all administrations, missing both a Tourism Master Plan that breaks the seasonality of the area, as well as an infrastructure improvement that is undermining its development

In this line it is worth mentioning, as an example, that MC has presented initiatives so that, under the surplus of Hidrogea, the project to bring water to Campillo de Adentro could be started;

to improve the safety of the environment of the Cueva del Agua;

for the adaptation of the San Ginés Palm Grove and the path that connects Isla Plana and La Azohía;

for the improvement of public lighting and for the recovery of the Baños de la Marrana, as well as the shore batteries, in this case, of Castillitos.

Garcia also recalled the work of MC for the promotion of the Costa de Cartagena brand, through an amendment to the municipal budgets, as well as the work carried out for the remodeling of Juan Paredes Square in La Azohía, the refurbishment of Buda Street of Plana Island or the recovery of a local in the Urbanization of San Ginés for its adaptation as headquarters of the Local Police.

In the sports field, during the management at the head of this Department of Ricardo Segado,

the Solidarity Journey 'Playas de La Azohía' was launched, which had a large participation of swimmers and put on the sports map, in summer, this privileged area of ​​the municipality of Cartagena.

Future objectives for the environment

Among the priority future challenges, García pointed out, among others, the office and the social premises of La Azohía, not surprisingly, one of the amendments of MC to the municipal budgets of 2018 contemplated the adequacy of the Azohía office;

the remodeling of the Plaza de las Brisas de La Azohía;

the maintenance of the poles of the walk that join La Azohía and Isla Plana and the repair of roads in El Campillo de Adentro.

For their part, the attendees, among whom were the presidents of the neighborhood Associations of Isla Plana, La Azohía and Campillo de Adentro, indicated some necessary actions, mostly in terms of infrastructures and connections both in the west towards Mazarrón, where the possibility of building a fast track was launched, as towards the center of Cartagena, where they demand an increase in the frequency of buses passing by.

Similarly, the neighbors, who appreciated the management and closeness of MC and its spokesman, José López, throughout the legislature, requested other issues such as the help from the administrations for the maintenance of social premises or that is put in public knowledge the ownership of each of the existing roads in the area.
