Cartagena can be savored in the first Gastro Education Conference Gastro Levante (25/01/2019)

Gastronomy is one of the attractions of Cartagena where you can taste thousands of traditional products and dishes such as explorers, octopus Cartagenera, Mar Menor cauldron, salted fish, La Yerbera cheeses, or drinks, such as coffee Asian or the wines of Villa Galtea.

This morning, January 25, has presented this gastronomic day at the School of Hospitality and Tourism has had the presence of the Councilor for Tourism of the City of Cartagena, David Martinez, who said that "our cuisine is traditional and modernist due to our history"

In FITUR, the assistants to this tourist fair could taste, among other plates, of the cauldron of the Mar Menor and this is because "the cartagenera kitchen drinks and feeds of the surroundings, mainly, of the Mar Menor, the Mediterranean Sea and the Field of Cartagena, something that not all places have ".

So that the cuisine of the Region of Murcia, one of them Cartagena, reaches other cities and countries it is necessary "to know how to move, to know where we are going to be and to be in the place and at the opportune moment".

The Councilor for Tourism has praised the work of the School of Hospitality for its 25th anniversary and noted that "young cooks are trained in this area but never lose our roots because it is the most important in our kitchen."

During the gastronomic day at El Batel, in addition to tasting numerous dishes, there will be talks, talks and show cooking taught by Cartagena chefs and 4 Michelin stars until 2:30 pm, time of closure.

The television cook, María Dolores Baró, will be in charge of presenting this culinary day, at 9 o'clock.

At 9:15 am, the cooks of the Magoga Restaurant in Cartagena, María Gómez and Adrían de Marcos will talk about 'Cartagena Gastronomic Port'.

At 10 am, there will be a presentation on the Euro-Toques scholarships, by its president, Juan Regis.

Between 10:10 and 12:15, 4 Michelin stars from the Maralba restaurants, in Almansa (2 stars), Cabaña Buenavista, in Murcia (2 stars) and the Domaine de Châteavieux, in Switzerland (2 stars) will give master class on the vanguard kitchen.

At 11 o'clock, there will be a short break of 30 minutes.

"The Michelin stars are important but it is also important that we sell well to our hoteliers, our people, our chefs and our restaurants and this is what we will see in these days."

At 1:00 PM, for the most gifted attendees, they will enjoy a presentation entitled "Story told in chocolate", given by the chocolate master of the La Gloria confectionery, in El Palmar (Murcia), Andrés Marmol, and, by the pastry chef Busquet confectionery, in Cabo de Palos (Cartagena), Marcos de la Fuente.

The final presentation will be given by the Michelin star of Alicante, Monastrell restaurant, María José San Ramón, at 1:45 p.m.

A talk whose main ingredient will be rice and its different varieties.
