The IES Isaac Peral has celebrated today the ceremony of the Capsule of Time in the main garden of the institute.
There, the students of different promotions of the center have deposited writings, files, scholarships and with the anecdotes, memories, events and photos of their passage through the institute that they had previously put in some mailboxes.
The Councilor for Education, Mercedes García, attended the ceremony.
Mercedes García has been "excited" by "being part of the history" of the center.
In fifty years, the Capsule will be unearthed.
The Department of Education has put into it "a CD with current photographs that have to do with education."
The director of the IES Isaac Peral, José Martínez, affirms that programs like the Apolo Theater of El Algar and Cartagena Piensa are also kept.
Also included in the Capsule is a pendrive with documentation of former students, a letter written by a member of an old promotion of the center or a graduation scholarship, among other objects.
This is one of the events that took place on Friday, January 25 at the IES Isaac Peral on the occasion of the feast of St. Thomas Aquinas, patron of Secondary, Bachelor and university students.
Other events have also been programmed, such as an open day for the former students, the traditional chocolate with sponge cake and a projection of old photos provided by the former students in the library.
In addition, the Capsule of Time is framed within the programming developed by the IES Isaac Peral on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of this educational center and the 150 years of Secondary Education in Cartagena.
