On Monday, January 14 at 7:00 pm, at the Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center, the prize-giving ceremony of the Antonio Oliver Belmás drawing and painting competition will take place.

The Councilor for Culture of the City of Cartagena, David Martínez Noguera, in addition to reading the jury's decision and delivering the awards, will open a show.

In it the works presented by all the participants in the contest will be exhibited.

The exhibition can be visited until Friday, January 25.

The prizes are given to ESO and Bachillerato students.

According to the jury's decision of last December 21, in the category of Baccalaureate, the first prize went to María Dolores Valderraín Navarro, of the IES Ben Arabí.

The second award has been deserted.

In the Secondary section, the winner was José Francisco Giménez Martínez, from the San Vicente de Paúl school.

The jury awarded the second prize to Lucía Maite González Escudero, from IES Isaac Peral.

Until December 1 students from secondary schools in Cartagena submitted 22 works according to the bases published last November.

The contest is created with the collaboration of the Department of Culture of the City of Cartagena and the Historical Memory Association, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the death of the poet, writer and founder of the Popular University, Antonio Oliver Belmás, and bring students from ESO and Bachillerato of the municipality of Cartagena to his figure and his work.
