Citizens examines in the Plenary the 12 pending projects of the agreement between Esamur and the City of Cartagena (27/12/2018)

- Orange training calls for the Water Monitoring Committee to be convened "to clarify once and for all what amount we have of the surplus of Hidrogea, and to organize the work under technical criteria, not under electoral whims", said the spokesperson for Citizens in Cartagena

- The Government affirms that all the projects are being executed except for the tertiary one of Cabezo de Beaza, and announces that it will gather the Water Monitoring Board in January 2019

The delay to improve the municipal water network in Cartagena has become a problem that Ciudadanos has addressed in the last ordinary plenary session of the year.

The orange formation affirms that the Town Hall, Hidrogea and Esamur have pending dozens of urgent works of sanitation, supply and channeling of rainwater for a millionaire value.

Cs has reviewed the 12 projects that Esamur planned to implement urgently this year for a total investment of 871,445.50 euros;

Of those projects, only two have been executed.

"We think it is a scandal, the PSOE described these projects as" urgent and necessary "eight months ago, and above is silent and does not report to the residents of Cartagena," Padrin recriminates.

Due also to the Government's refusal to convene the Water Monitoring Board, Cs has asked in today's session for each of them:

1. Improvements in process control, ammonium-nitrate probes from the centers.

Amount: 68,556 euros.

2. New system of mud heat exchangers in the sewage treatment plant (EDAR) of Cabezo Beaza.

35,222 euros.

3. Replacement of the Cabeza Beaza WWTP centrifuge.

100,000 euros.

4. Conversion of another centrifuge from normal to G2 in Cabezo Beaza EDAR.

60,000 euros.

5. Placement of the pretreatment deck in the Mar Menor South WWTP.

41.0000 euros.

6. Construction of a new silo and a new drive for the Mar Menor South WWTP.

76,600 euros.

7. Acquisition of a generator for the EBAR (Pump Station) of Barrio Peral.

77,050 euros.

8. Pretreatment in the EBAR of Barrio Peral.

100,000 euros.

9. Substitution of a pump in the EBAR of Barrio Peral.

140,000 euros.

10. Adaptation of the entrance to the rolling tank in the Cabezo Beaza WWTP.

24,060 euros.

11. Realization of the tertiary project of Cabezo Beaza.

30,000 euros.

PSOE response:

The Decentralization Councilor, Juan Pedro Torralba, has responded that most of the works are being executed and has committed to Cs in offering a draft with the specific status of each of the projects.

Regarding the project of the tertiary of Cabezo Beaza the socialist mayor has assured that it is in the drafting phase, and hopes that it can be addressed throughout the month of January 2019. Regarding the signing of the new agreement, Torralba has informed that the Government is in the negotiation phase, and about the expected liquidations of Hidrogea there are still discrepancies, which are expected to be resolved by mid-January;

moment in which the Water Monitoring Table will be convened.

The spokesman of Citizens does not hesitate to directly blame this situation of collapse and delay to MC and PSOE, "the fruitless war that localistas undertook against the concessionaires only served to delay the reduction of water (now works to declare it null and return the money to Hidrogea) and paralyze the necessary works for the maintenance and improvement of our water network, we Cartagena continue paying that useless policy of fights, and now, it is the weakness of a PSOE in a minority surpassed by the innumerable responsibilities of the Government which it is not able to unclog the situation caused exclusively by MC's populism in its disastrous management in 2015, 2016 and part of 2017. "

Manuel Padín recalled that the company's own technicians listed some of the most urgent tasks, "the renewal of obsolete networks, a storm tank in the Mandarache area to reduce the risk of flooding, start underground drilling for drafting the storm interceptor project on Salamanca Street, or provide the sanitation service to Perín, Galifa and Los Beatos ".

"In addition, we can not forget the generation of employment that occurs with the execution of these works that are covered mostly with professionals from Cartagena," said Padin.

The spokesman for Citizens stressed that "it is important the execution of these works, but also the verification to the millimeter of the process chosen for its bidding so that all the criteria of transparency, publicity and justice that we can demand, be applied to through the company or the City Council "
