Yesterday afternoon, a working meeting took place between the general secretary of MC Cartagena and municipal spokesman, José López, and the mayor María José Soler, accompanied by the coordinator of Neighborhoods and County Councils, Enrique Pérez, and the member of the Neighborhood Meeting of La Palma, Mª Carmen Saura, with associations and neighbors of the La Palma deputation.
During the meeting, which took place at the Civic Center of La Palma, María José Soler exhibited part of the important work done by MC during his government responsibilities at the City of Cartagena.
Likewise, José López gave a brief summary of the actions promoted by the Cartagena training in this deputation.
Artificial turf soccer field of La Palma
The construction of a football field 11 artificial turf is a neighborhood demand maintained over time in recent years.
In this sense, the work of MC from the mayor of José López will allow you to carry out the extension of the existing field of football 8, turning it into a soccer surface 11 artificial turf, thanks to the swap of land sports equipment approved by the Local Government Board on May 5, 2017, at the proposal of the mayor, José López.
It should be remembered that the coordinated work of the councils of Sports and Sustainable Development, MC competitions until last January, allowed the construction project of football field 11 artificial turf in La Palma was finalized, being approved by the Board of Local Government on December 22, 2017.
Likewise, a plenary initiative of MC Cartagena made it possible for the municipal government to be urged to approve a budget modification so that the construction works of a football field 11 of artificial turf in La Palma are contracted.
Garden of Candide
El Huerto de Cándido was ceded to the City of Cartagena during the mayoralty of José López by its owner, Cándido García, and the acceptance of this patrimony was ratified in a March 2017 Government Board agreement.
This orchard is a space of more than 3,000 square meters, which has been the protagonist in the history of La Palma for the last 65 years, counting with more than 220 different species.
In this way, the City assumed the ownership of a garden that can house different utilities.
MC Cartagena presented an amendment to the municipal budgets of 2018, which had the approval of the Plenary, for the enhancement of the Garden of Cándido.
Thus, this initiative would serve to restore irrigation, outline a design of the orchard and repopulate new species.
However, the Government of Castejón has not executed the content of this initiative finally making a performance that is completely unsatisfactory, since they have limited to remove the fibrocements and the project of value is still in the air.
Defense of the culture and traditions of the Campo de Cartagena
Lopez also outlined how MC has bet "for the defense of the culture and traditions of Campo de Cartagena, for that reason, he has always worked with the Ciudad de Cartagena Folk Group."
In this way, he recalled that "for the organization of its 25th edition we doubled the municipal subsidy".
"We also reactivated with the UPCT the agreement of the Tomás Ferro Foundation and jointly project initiatives, such as, for example, the research prizes with the Chair of Agriculture in the field of water and nitrates," argued the mayor.
The work of MC in the Neighborhood Board of La Palma
In relation to the work of the MC member in the Neighborhood Board of La Palma, Mª Carmen Saura, the spokesperson of MC, José López, highlighted his work of control to the management of the president, as well as attention to the neighbors, through of different initiatives of interest to the deputation, urging the different administrations, both local and regional, and even the Neighborhood Council itself.
At the regional level, he pointed to the demand for "improvements in road safety on the RM-36 highway. F, on its exit to Torre-Pacheco, and crossing with the Transfer road from Lo Parreño to Villa Paula or the protection of the park alongside the new roundabout at the entrance to the Industrial Estate and the nursery, both initiatives still unanswered by the regional administration ".
He also reported on other actions such as "cypress deforestation report on one of the margins of the RM-36, F, and security and protection measures on one of the margins of RM-311 at the height of the Polygon" .
On the other hand, at the local level and the Neighborhood Council, indicated "the follow-up regarding maintenance, conservation, cleaning and drafting of the restoration project of the Huerto de Cándido, improvements in road safety in the urban area, in terms of vertical signage and horizontal, as in the street Antonio Serrano, the initiatives for cleaning of lots and parks, the solicitation of nominative posters of dispersed rural nuclei or the request of sanitation for dispersed nuclei with charge to the surplus of Hidrogea, that still has not obtained answer " .
Future actions
Regarding the future actions to be carried out in La Palma, the MC municipal spokesman indicated among the most important needs "the expansion of some educational units of the school and the elimination of barracks, that asphalting and public lighting plans are scheduled; control of street cleaning and gardening, as well as progress in the traffic bypass from Cartagena to Torre-Pacheco, which borders the town ".
On the other hand, the neighbors manifested some of the necessary actions for the area such as improvements in gardening, which increases the protection of the hamlets of the area that until now are taken care of by the neighbors, that is acted on the abandoned lots, being of special urgency those who are in the environment of the Church and the school or the need to improve the steel and other infrastructure of the deputation.
Likewise, neighbors complained that the inability of the socialist government of Castejón to approve municipal budgets has caused delays in various aspects such as carrying out works or paying subsidies.
