Infrastructure improves the pavement and lighting of San Diego Street and surroundings (10/12/2018)

The area of ​​Public Services, Citizen Participation and Celebrations has set in motion the improvement works of pavement and lighting of San Diego Street and surroundings, for which this road will be cut to traffic from this Monday, December 10, to Friday, December 14th.

Calle San Diego and its continua, Calle Duque, are some of the main roads of the Historic District and access road to the urban center.

According to the project, in the stretch of San Diego, the road is deteriorated and in both streets, the streetlights are aged by the passage of time, as well as in the vicinity of Plaza Merced.

The works that are going to be developed are the milling of deteriorated asphalting in stretches of the San Diego Street, as well as its conditioning with agglomerate and the slope of the boxes located in this road and in the zones of encounter with the rest of the roads.

Likewise, it will proceed to the painting and horizontal signage and vertical renovation of San Diego Street and Duque Street;

and the surface treatment of the street lighting points of Calle San Diego, Calle Duque, Plaza San Ginés and the one next to Plaza de la Merced.

Finally, the luminaire of these roads will be replaced by another LED type and the islands will be painted in the vicinity of the Bastarreche Square.

The Councilor for Public Services and Citizen Participation, Juan Pedro Torralba, has indicated that this is one of the many works that are being carried out to start new infrastructures.

Torralba has announced that from Monday until Wednesday, December 12, will proceed to work the asphalt, while on Thursday and Friday, December 13 and 14, will carry out the tasks of signaling, leaving the traffic resumed for the Weekend.

In addition, the council has announced that this week will begin work on the Juan XXIII park, where they will change the infrastructure and explained that they will proceed to change the luminaire of the Ensanche area, the streets Ingeniero de la Cierva and Jacinto Benavente and the replacement by LED luminaire in the Hispano-America neighborhood, Los Dolores, El Bohío and Virgen de la Caridad.
