Today a new workers' association has been born to fight for their labor rights, Asthecar, the first association of Hospitality Workers in Cartagena and its Region, and Podemos Cartagena to attend its presentation to show their absolute support to these workers.

From Podemos they celebrate that some workers of the hospitality industry take a step forward and say ENOUGH of labor exploitation, enough of abuse on the part of a great part of the entrepreneurs of the sector, enough of conditions of semi-slavery, enough of salaries of misery.

Asthecar Association has moved and has publicly denounced what has been happening for years in the hospitality industry, a sector that currently has more than 15,000 workers in the region of Cartagena, and that with their work hold one of the most important pillars of the economy Murciana and Cartagenera2E Endless shifts, vacations that are not paid, a temporality that exceeds 90%, discriminatory and humiliating treatment for workers.

Nor is family conciliation contemplated, ... 2E and these and many other things have made these workers decide to start defending themselves and each other, because nobody has looked for the defense of their labor rights.

The purple formation has extended its hand, and Asthecar has been transferred to start working with them to start writing a new regional agreement for the hospitality sector, which has not been reviewed since 2008, not to mention that it is not fulfilled and is totally obsolete.
