Repsol brings to Cartagena an exhibition that pays tribute to Nobel women of science (18/11/2018)

This exhibition highlights the figure of seven women from different scientific disciplines, who throughout history have obtained the prestigious award

After the inauguration of the exhibition, in the Cultural Center of the Cajamurcia Foundation, the scientist, Celia Martínez Mora will offer the conference "Researcher-A.

Next Monday, November 19, at 18:00 in the afternoon, the Nobel Women's Exhibition opens in the Cultural Center of the Cajamurcia Foundation, in Cartagena, which arrives in Cartagena from the hand of Repsol as part of the program of the Week of Science and Energy.

The act is expected to come the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón and the Councilor for Culture, David Martinez.

The exhibition Nobel Women aims to honor and disseminate a selection of women whose excellence in scientific disciplines has been recognized with the famous award that Alfred Nobel established in his will, as well as the Swedish philanthropist who bequeathed to the world the most prestigious awards.

And it does it through didactic panels and silhouettes of the awarded ones.

The main objective of the exhibition is to present the vital and professional career of some of these women who have fought for an ideal and have become world leaders in the scientific area.

A field of these awards in which women represent only a meager 3% female of the total award in science fields.

The exhibition can be visited free of charge until next Friday, November 23, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will later be transferred to the Visitors' Center of the Cartagena Refinery.

In this same line of valorization of the female figure in the scientific disciplines, after the opening ceremony of the exhibition, at 18:30 the conference "Researcher" will take place in the auditorium of the Cultural Center of the Cajamurcia Foundation. -TO.

The talk will be given by Celia Martínez Mora, PhD in Agronomy Engineering by the ETSI Agronomists of the UPCT and Researcher of the IMIDA.

8M Mujer Murciana Award 2006. Her work focuses on research into the molecular genetic improvement of IMIDA plants to obtain new varieties that respond to climate change and the evolution of the needs of producers and consumers.

Admission is free until full capacity is reached.

Celia Martínez will have as introducer of this talk the Vice Chancellor of Research of the UPCT, Beatriz Miguel.
