Scott Matthew and Al Di Meola star in the third week of the Cartagena Jazz Festival (12/11/2018)

The third week of the Cartagena Jazz Festival will bring sweetness, sadness and bitterness in its fair doses, characteristics of Scott Matthew's style.

The Australian comes this Friday, November 16, to present his latest album Unlearned.

After Matthew, it will be the turn of Al Di Meola, the great jazz fusion guitar.

Demon virtuoso of the guitar, Al Di Meola, pioneer in the fusion of world music, rock and jazz, will present on the tables of the New Theater Circus his new album, Opus.

The music of Scott Matthew has its own character and style, which combines folk and feelings, where each syllable is sung with intention and whose voice, with a touch of sadness, deals with sentimental aspects.

Born in Australia, where he formed his first punk-pop band, Nicotine.

In 1997 he moved to Brooklyn, where he met Morrissey drummer Spencer Crobin.

Together with Crobin, he would form Elva Show and publish his first EP.

He is known for his participation in the soundtrack of John Cameron's film Mitchell, Shortbus, although he has also recorded songs for animated series such as Ghost in the Shell and Cowboy Bebop and for the feature film In The End.

His live shows are intense but minimalist, vigorous but light.

After Matthew, on Friday, November 16, he will climb to the tables of the Nuevo Teatro Circo, Al Di Meola, the great jazz fusion guitar.

Also this week will follow the sections of Off Jazz and Street Jazz.

On Thursday, November 15, at 9:30 pm at El Soldadito de Plomo, the MELO training.

On Saturday, at 12:30, the streets of downtown Cartagena will be invaded by the sounds of the Cotijazz Street Band.

After them, Alv McMartin will perform on the stage of the Plaza del Icue.

One day later, on Sunday, November 17th, he performed in the garden in front of the El Cuervo bar of Smart Trio and Vera Lu.

All musicians who want to join are invited to participate freely.
