Citizens will ask the PSOE for explanations for its disastrous management to avoid closing the La Aljorra nursery (01/11/2018)

- The orange training has recalled that around thirty parents have been affected by the uncertainty and lack of information from the City Council since June, and finally four families have been left unattended for trusting the word of the PSOE

- "We also do not understand how the center's management was allowed to announce a unilateral closure in June. Was the government aware of these intentions? Asks Manuel Padín who believes that these" self-fulfilling prophecies should not be allowed "

Citizens harshly criticized today the PSOE Government for its management to avoid the closure this year of the Center for Attention to Children (CAI) of La Aljorra.

The orange training has learned that the new head of Education, Mercedes García, reported last Monday to the parents of La Aljorra that the Ángel de la Guarda nursery would close on Wednesday, "they are informed of this resolution only two days before the final closure and after assuring them since June that this would not happen, I think this is not a way to treat these parents who will now be forced to increase their spending with travel and dining to reconcile their work and family life, "said the spokesman Citizens in Cartagena, Manuel Padín, who has announced that he will ask for explanations in the next ordinary plenary session throughout this process.

Ciudadanos recalled that around thirty parents have been affected by this uncertainty since June, and finally four families have been left unattended for trusting the word of the City Council.

The Orange spokesman recalled that the concession of this center was made in September 2008, which also benefited from an agreement with the Community for the equipment and that its award period was ten years, "we have many doubts about what has occurred, this summer the legal advice of the City of Cartagena reported that the center could not be closed without an agreement between the company that manages it and the local government and that this year would remain open, but the center's management has been unilaterally announcing its closure since June, on the other hand it is true that the term of the first 10 years has ended, so everything seems to point to a lack of foresight and planning by the Consistory.

"We also do not understand how the center's management has been allowed to announce a unilateral closure in June. Was the government aware of these intentions? Asks Manuel Padín, who believes that these" self-fulfilling prophecies can not be allowed ". that announcement was made to drive away new registrations and justify the low profitability before the City Council and if the PSOE collaborated in this dirty strategy ".

Citizens has also recalled the words of the Minister of Education, Adela Martínez-Cachá, who came to say publicly that these cases are very common in the Region of Murcia, and that in those cases usually leave a year of margin to assess how it has arrived at that situation and so that in case necessary a slow process of municipalization without educational interruption begins, "a hasty decision never is taken", the counselor got to say.

Cs considers that the desirable thing would have been to bet on this road, the transition towards a public management of the CAI without interruption and without harming the parents.

Citizens will ask at the next regular plenary session if the notification of the center was made in a timely manner, why the center's management unilaterally reported its closure since June, which caused the children to flee to other centers, why was it allowed to the management of the nursery to prevent new registrations since July, and why despite the writings sent by the Association of Neighbors and parents since July 2, the City Council did not react or respond. "The orange training will also ask to know the technical documentation that supposedly demonstrates the economic infeasibility of the CAI, and if all the conditions of the specifications for the concession have been followed.

Finally, Cs will ask for the procedures for this center to be integrated into the network of Municipal Infantile Schools, and if other concerted centers can also be affected by unforeseen closures of this type, "at this point, we can only look for those responsible for so much nonsense and try to prevent this from happening again in Cartagena ", assured Manuel Padín.

The abandoned Aljorra

Citizens understand that the neighbors are organizing protests, "socialist management is bad in all neighborhoods and councils, but in La Aljorra is bleeding, at the close of the daycare must be added the incomprehensible delays to build the new school that will replace the two current, the paralysis of the storm tank, the dirt in streets and parks, the lack of space in the health center, insecurity due to thefts, and the lack of response from the City Council to the writings and opinions of the Neighborhood Board and the Neighborhood Association.
