The Museum of the Roman Theater expands its opening during the All Saints Bridge (30/10/2018)

The Museum of the Roman Theater of Cartagena, whose patronage is integrated by the Community, the City Council and the Cajamurcia Foundation, will be open throughout the entire bridge on November 1 to provide the opportunity to visit the monument to those travelers who visit the Region these days.

Thus, it will remain open Thursday, Friday and Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

On Sunday the hours will be extended from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and on Monday 5 they will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Those who come these days to the Cartagena museum may visit the temporary exhibition 'Places of oblivion', Antonio Gomez, a project that speaks of those spaces and objects that at some point fell into oblivion and have now been recovered.

The use of old photography joins the photograph of the artist's travels through archaeological sites and museums;

own images on which he paints and draws.

The exhibition 'La mirada de Himilce' is also open, a journey through the photographs taken by Juan José Ruiz Montoya and Juan Rodríguez Álvarez in different historical sites of the city to women who have given life at the Carthaginian and Roman festivals to Princess Himilce.

The Museo Teatro Romano also implements its activity on this bridge with themed tours and visits in collaboration with Cartagena Puerto de Culturas.

On November 1 (12:00 hours) the theatrical route "Temples, goddesses and a lot of theater" has been programmed, in which the participants will share the adventures of a Roman citizen who invokes the gods to achieve his dream: to act in the theater of Carthago Nova.

The journey will begin in the Barrio del Foro, where the Temple of Isis is located, to seek the protection of the goddess and the pleasures of the Baths;

to gather strength by invoking Augustus and finally arrive at the theater.

The price of this activity is 14 (individual), 12 (reduced) and 7 euros (Club Cartagena Port of Cultures).

On Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 there will be the 'Virtual visit to the Roman theater of Cartagena: new experiences';

a guided tour with virtual reality that will allow you to immerse yourself, through virtual glasses, in the old building.

You can visualize in 360 degrees the theater as it was in its time, fly over it or see a small pampering of the time.

The visit will start at 11:00 and the price is 10 euros.

In addition, you can make the routes 'History with flavor', a nod to gastronomy and the Mediterranean diet inspired by our classic heritage.

On day 3 (11:30 am), on the guided route 'One of Romans', you can get to know life in a city of the Roman Empire, starting the visit at the Roman Theater Museum, discovering how the citizens of Carthago Nova enjoyed it in the Baths and in the luxurious banquets dedicated to the goddess Isis in the Barrio del Foro Romano and ending with the tasting of a dish inspired by the Roman cuisine of Apicius' book.

On the route of November 2 and 4 (11:30 am), 'Cartagena three cultures', will be released medieval history and the confluence of the three cultures: Christian, Jewish and Muslim.

It will start in the panoramic lift, arriving at the Castillo de la Concepción, then skirting the Church of Santa María la Mayor until you reach the Museo del Teatro Romano.

The route will end again with the tasting of a typical tapa of Jewish or Muslim cuisine.

The price of the routes 'History with flavor' is of 14 (individual), 12 (reduced) and 7 euros (Club Cartagena Port of Cultures).
