The installation of the parquet floor in the central court of the Palacio de Deportes has been completed thanks to the joint work of the City of Cartagena and the Jimbo Fresh company, which are making it possible for the sports facility to become the headquarters of the FS Jimbee team, as well as other clubs in the municipality.
The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, visited Thursday, October 4, the sports facilities with the Councilor for Public Services, Juan Pedro Torralba, representatives of the most important clubs in the municipality and Jimbee Cartagena FS manager, Juan Giménez.
The mayor thanked the work of Jimbo Fresh in the development of this project, and indicated that this Saturday, October 6, will be played in the new parquet of the Palacio de Deportes a long-awaited match between the Jimbee Cartagena FS and Xota Futsal.
The mayor said that there will be held "that we have the best indoor soccer team" and citizens will be able to verify "that what I'm committed to is becoming a reality," he added.
"We said that we were going to open the Sports Palace in stages and here we have the most important," said the mayor, while she reported that although indoor soccer plays a very important role, there are many more clubs such as rhythmic gymnastics, judo, karate, basketball, handball, violeibol, table tennis and badminton.
Castejón said that yesterday opened the doors of a municipal infrastructure that had been closed for a long time and announced that, within optimal conditions of security, budget and legality, the consistory is open to find ways to give life to the sports facility.
For his part, Juan Giménez said that we are "in a glorious moment of Cartagena", while explaining that Cartagena deserves a place to practice sports at this level.
