Citizens denounce in the Council of Transparency that the City Council denies the copy of the Master Plan of the Cemetery (18/09/2018)

- Although the orange formation received on 3 September the decree authorizing copies of the files, the Coordinator of Heritage, María del Carmen Berrocal, has instructed Archaeological Heritage and Transparency not to deliver the copy to the councilors of Citizens in Cartagena

- "The situation seems surreal to us because if those files exist it is because our Group took a plenary agreement to value the Cemetery, we do not know what this lack of transparency responds to," denounces the spokesman for Citizens in Cartagena, Manuel Padín

Cartagena, Tuesday September 18 -.

Citizens will denounce in the Transparency Council of the Region of Murcia the presumed resolution of the City of Cartagena not to provide the orange training a copy of the Master Plan for Protection and Recovery of the Cemetery of Our Lady of Remedies or inventory of goods, a study commissioned by the Government Board in 2017 with 5,000 euros of budget.

Ciudadanos has also reported that it is assessing the possibility of raising this issue also to the Ombudsman.

Cs Cartagena recalled today that the Transparency Council can formulate requirements for the correction of non-compliance that may occur.

The maximum period to resolve and notify the resolution will be three months from this moment.

Citizens affirm that they have the right to access a copy of the documents, and remember that if they exist it is thanks to a plenary agreement promoted by this formation in December 2015.

The mayor of Ciudadanos in Cartagena, Ana Rama, has explained his particular odyssey to find and study these documents, "the first time we requested the viewing of these files was on May 7, and we received no response, so we returned to send the request on June 11, the next day we learned that the decree authorizing the viewing was already signed, but nobody from the Heritage and Health area knows where those files are or there is no record of the authorization decree. "

"After a month of calls and referrals, on July 24 from Archaeological Heritage they inform that they already have the documentation, after examining it, we decided to ask for the authorization for the delivery of a copy to carry out an in-depth analysis, a favorable decree that we received on 3 September with the signature of councilor Francisco Aznar, the legal director of the Legal Department and the director of the Municipal Government Office, but despite this, from the Archaeological Heritage area refuse to give us the copy.

"Apparently it is the Coordinator of Heritage, Maria del Carmen Berrocal, which has ordered that these documents are not delivered, we think the situation is surreal because if these files exist, it is because our Group took forward a plenary agreement to value the Cemetery, we do not know what this lack of transparency answers, "denounces the spokesman for Citizens in Cartagena, Manuel Padin, who maintains that" the PSOE government is behaving in a very strange way in everything concerning this cemetery. "

Padín recalled that "the PSOE exportvoz lacked truth when he said in plenary session that this cemetery already belonged to the European route of cemeteries, an affirmation that we could easily disprove putting us in communication with the National Association of Significant Cemeteries of Europe that assured us that the City Council, after its request for inclusion was accepted, had not paid the corresponding monthly fee to benefit from this European project, and we still do not know if it has already paid for it ".

It is not the first, according to Citizens, who have problems for the Government of Cartagena to offer or respond to questions requested or asked by orange councilors.

In this regard, they recalled that they are still awaiting the report of the UPCT that warned about the high risk of contamination in the El Gorguel landfill, or the alleged report of the infrastructure technicians on the contractual situation with the company Lhicarsa that MC commissioned. was requested in January 2018 and delivered (supposedly) unofficially and without signing the spokesman during the development of the last plenary session, "we are still waiting for that document to arrive, with signature and all the guarantees of truthfulness", clarifies Manuel Padín.
