"It is crucial that in Cartagena there are people trained to increase tourist quality," said the dean of the Faculty of Business Sciences, which is going to impart the new degree, which offers 50 places of first year.

"It will be a quality education, with bilingual teaching in Spanish and English and students will also be trained in a third language, French or German," he specified.

"Tourism is very important for the creation of wealth," said Pedro Pablo Hernández, president of the cartegenera employer association.

"Cartagena is the spearhead of the regional tourism sector.

20% of the 575,000 tourists who arrived in the first six months of the year to the Region of Murcia did so through the Port of Cartagena, "said the president of the Port Authority, Joaquín Segado.
