Cs affirms that the PSOE continues blocking, six months later, the permission to a company to install a charging station (05/09/2018)

- "Apparently, the big problem is that the PSOE Government does not know (since March) how to enable two seats reserved for electric vehicles that have the seal of zero emissions," says the local spokesman of Cs who says that the City Council has become "the great enemy of the Cartagena companies that have opted for clean energy"

Cartagena, Wednesday, September 5.

The Municipal Group of Citizens denounced last May the situation of a Cartagena company that despite having opted for sustainable transport and has financed with their money a project to set up a charging station for their own fleet of electric vehicles with zero emissions, has not succeeded in the City untie the mandatory municipal authorizations to make it possible.

This company submitted a letter to the City Council on March 12 (accompanied by a technical project approved by the College of Engineers) to request authorization for the installation of a recharging point to supply its fleet of electric vehicles, and the creation of of a couple of parking spaces at the entrance of the company;

non-exclusive places but public for any user of electric vehicles.

This request continues more than six months later without an answer.

As the spokesman for Citizens in Cartagena has learned "apparently, the big problem is that the PSOE government does not know how to enable two seats reserved for electric vehicles that have the seal of zero emissions."

"While in any other municipality, some as close as Águilas or Murcia, there is no problem and have already enabled dozens of seats of this kind, in Cartagena seems a goal of great complexity that there is no way to achieve," says Manuel Padín that maintains that the City Council has become, until now, "the enemy of all those Cartagena companies that have decided to bet on clean energy and with that attitude the only thing that is promoting is that these exemplary companies decide to move to other municipalities respectful with the environment and more effective with the business fabric ".

Manuel Padín regrets that this City Council, "instead of offering facilities and solutions when some businessmen ask for a simple authorization to the administration for a noble purpose, which is in charge of their accounts, hinder and incidentally take away the desire to try again If we can not provide something as simple as reserving parking spaces for clean cars and promoting the demand for these vehicles, how on earth are we going to be able to do, for example, a General Plan for Urban Planning? " Padín.

The Association of Users of Electric Vehicles (AUVE) has already criticized several times the City of Cartagena for its management related to electric transport in the municipality, "we are going to ask the PSOE Government to do something very obvious but apparently unknown for them: pick up the phone and call the City of Águilas, Mazarrón, Murcia or the AUVE to advise on the municipal management of electric transport, "said Manuel Padín reminds that the rating of these electric spaces is also an obligation imposed by a plenary agreement promoted by his Group in June 2017.

Recharge points, pilot test destined to failure

As for the pilot test that has launched the PSOE with two recharging points, which are still inoperative today, Manuel Padin considers a nonsense that is not allowed to charge vehicles that are in the name of a company or company, also considers it unfeasible to force any visitor to the city with an electric car to go through this laborious process of registration and validation, "not even planned to exploit these points as advertising support so that the future award to a cargo manager have a cost for the municipal coffers ".

The orange spokesman also reproaches that individuals have to have a physical document to recharge, "an absolute anomaly in the digital era."

According to the orange spokesman, "if nothing remedies, in a few months the City Council will withdraw the service for lack of demand and the only culprit will have been the political leader," says Padin, who recalls that "these points, along with the electrol payment, which do not exist in Cartagena, are the beginning, essential to generate demand for cars and electric motorcycles, a pilot test until March 2019 poorly designed is not to bet on this transport but we must implement an attractive network, simple, cost-effective, and free during the first years, and endure it in conditions to generate demand ".
