San Ginés honors the patron saint of Cartagena in its traditional festivities (27/08/2018)

San Ginés lived last weekend of August 24 and 25 the festivity of his saint and the commemoration of the 341 Anniversary of the Patronage of Cartagena.

The organization was run by the Brotherhood of San Ginés de la Jara, as well as the Parish of San Ginés de la Jara and the Brotherhood of the Romeros of the neighborhood, who had the collaboration of the City of Cartagena.

On Saturday, August 25, the Mass in honor of the Patron of Cartagena, which was presided over by Rev. Lázaro Gomáriz López, took place at 7:00 p.m., followed by the Procession with the Image of San Ginés de la Jara through the Avenida del Engineer of the Cierva.

Upon the arrival of the temple, the traditional solidarity sale of rolls of bread from San Ginés and a chocolate with buns and lemonade from San Ginés took place.

The Councilor for Public Services and Citizen Participation, Juan Pedro Torralba, was at night accompanying the Brotherhood and the neighbors at the party that was held in the neighborhood.

The previous day, August 24, neighbors and visitors went to the traditional parade and floral offering to the patron saint and listened attentively to the proclamation of San Ginés de la Jara, by the elder brother californio, Juan Carlos de la Cerra Martínez.
